House OKs job-creation bill - NOT ONE REPUBLICAN VOTED FOR IT! Who needs Al Kaida we've got the GOP

WASHINGTON — The House on Wednesday passed a year-end plan to create jobs, mixing about $50 billion for public works projects with almost $50 billion for cash-strapped state and local governments.
The unemployed would get continued benefits. Conspicuously absent from the plan were President Obama's recently announced initiatives to give Social Security recipients $250 payments, a tax credit for small businesses that create jobs and a program awarding tax credits to people who make their homes more energy-efficient.

In a statement, Obama said the House measure offers "productive ideas to respond to this great need" for jobs, while urging lawmakers to do more. "Some may think standing by and taking no action is the right approach, but for the millions of Americans still out of work, inaction is unacceptable," Obama said.

Not a single Republican voted for the plan, which passed on a 217-212 vote after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., worked the floor for an hour before it passed. The measure now goes to the Senate, which won't consider the measure until next year

1. They care only about themselves.
The country can go to hell, as far as they are concerned.

2. It makes one wonder what bills Republicans (the party of "no") would vote for?
Do they even write bills any more?

3. 217-212?
What a slim passage that was.

I would've expected something much higher than 217.

Thank goodness it passed anyway.

5. That's worth considering
According to the article, the bill won't be discussed in the Senate until next year when some senators may feel reluctant to vote for it due to it being an election year.

6. We must not forget this obstructionism, and must use it
for all it's worth in the 2010 elections. The Party of "No" cannot be allowed to gain any seats.
