What did you pay for gas on your last fillup?
I live in Northern NJ and we have the cheapest gas in the country. I paid $3.89 for Super today.

What did you pay for gas? Where?

7. 3.79 Mass.
But I expect 4.00+ any day now.

The last time we had major inflation it was across the board: ss went up, wages went up, money market interest rates went up: it was shakey times but unless you were stuck on an unadjusted fixed income it was ok. This round is crap. The gummint is jiggering the books to keep the cola down and nobody is getting a raise.

I got just over 5 gallons. I put it on my credit card which gives me 5% cashback. Given this info. - I paid $3.89 when I last filled up.

Luckily I do not drive very much any more.

This is absolutely outrageous no matter what situation you might be in.

64. "Only" $3.89 in my neighborhood
which is a funky part of town far from I-40, so it tends to be relatively cheap.

That princely ten cents a gallon cheaper than the area next to the highway doesn't look nearly as good as it did just 8 years ago.

We've edged down to 3.98 here in Ann Arbor, MI. I'm wondering if it will go up next week after the latest oil rise. Guess so... the gas suppliers use any market shift to raise the price, regardless if it is priced in or not.

62. Yup, capitalism it is
What ever the market will bear.

There was a documentary style movie back in 2005 called "Oil Storm" that was on FX. It just showed how different factors coming together (demand from other countries, instability in the Middle East, a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico, etc.) could all happen over the same period of time and we would be in a world of hurt. It was actually aired just 3 months before Katrina.

It was a UK production but FX owns the US rights. They've never released it on DVD, or broadcast it after its initial run. Things that make you go hmmmmm ............

You can watch a clip here:

http://www.walltowall.co.uk/videoclip.aspx?w2wProgram=3

Maybe if we write to FX and we can get them to air it again.

79. Ugh. I've never understood why diesel is so much more expensive.
I didn't think they had to refine it as much.

80. It has been cheaper in the past. The reason it's so expensive now--

That was a few days ago. I haven't had a full tank of gas in a loooooooooong time. I just buy a little bit and then ride on fumes for a while.
