Will AZ Republicans Ever Learn?

They passed an employer-sanctions law which became effective on Jan 1st aimed at driving illegal immigrants out of state.

Although the sanctions apply only to employment, according to today’s Arizona Republic, the Repubs got their wish. The illegals are also leaving rented apartments by the hundreds. Entire families are moving because of the job market leaving apartment owners and managers with vacancies they cannot fill. In one case, a 155 apt complex is losing some $10,000 a month because of the vacancies.

Wonder how many of the those big complexes are owned by Democrats?

1. So much for the Melon and Lettuce farmers of Arizona...
Kind of hard to get your produce picked if there is no one there to do it.

2. The apartment crunch is just one aspect of this law. Somehow, Republicans do not understand
the relationship between cause and effect.

4. I don't know about this law's details
And seeing that it was done by the Republicans probably means it's a bad law.
But employer sanctions is a good idea. There is a problem with illegal workers in this country. (I said "illegal", I do not think there is a problem with legal immigrant workers.)
As part of a comprehensive plan on immigration, employer sanctions is a must. The hiring of illegal workers is part of the problem that is facing the middle class, it brings down the wages of legal (US and immigrant) workers.
Construction work is a big example of this.
