Union reaches deal with ammo plant (IA)
MIDDLETOWN, Iowa Union members on strike from an Army ammunition plant in southeast Iowa have reached a deal that brings hundreds of employees a step closer to returning to work.

Teamsters ratified a four-year contract with American Ordnance, the contractor at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant in Middletown.

Eight of the nine unions involved in the work stoppage have reached agreements, but most members haven't crossed the picket lines since the strike began two weeks ago.

Machinists Local Ten-Ten has not ratified a contract. Talks resume today -- the first time the two sides have met in more than a week. <snip>
