NLRB: All nurses must vote (Northern Michigan Hospital )
PETOSKEY - <snip>

The National Labor Relations Board directed an NMH nurse election to determine Teamsters Local 406's status. The NLRB did not say when a vote might take place.

Nurses both on strike from the hospital for more than 29 months and working inside have an interest in voting on their unionization, striking nurse Julia Hulderman said.

"Unless the hospital wants to go to a different country, they have to succumb to the people's wishes," she said. "It's not about them; it's about us. (Voting) is our right."

Hospital management contends virtually all striking nurses have been permanently replaced and should not be allowed to vote. But that won't stop the election process, NLRB regional director Stephen Glasser said. <snip>
