Women wearing pants is a sin?
So help me... I run SearchSpy on my browser for entertainment value.
Just a while ago there was a search for:

"christian women should not wear men pants because it's a sin"

Unbelievable.

4. You didn't know that already??

You must be very young. Back in the dark ages when I was in college and when I first started teaching, NO Woman ever wore pants.

You think maybe these same people might see the first lady and her daughters as sinners??? Naw, not those refined ladies.

11. The funny thing is
the Bible says women are forbidden to wear men's clothing.

Yet all the men in the Bible...wore dresses.

12. Or dependents driving on base -- must wear skirts
On military bases -- the CO is god. And there was one nut (could have been a right wing nut) ordered that all guards check to see that women were wearing skirts -- if not the women were NOT allowed on base.

The funny part was that my mother was a Fundamentalist nut and she was taking P.E. (Physical Education) classes for her college degree. She was wearing peddle pushers -- not shorts and left class in her peddle pushers pants.

The base guard would not allow her to drive on base -- we lived on base. She had to drive somewhere and find a bathroom where she could change into her skirt.

This was the late 1960s -- and most of the fundy colleges refused to allow the girls to wear shorts or pants for their P.E. classes. One very brave girl joined the boys in the physical fitness day game IN HER SKIRT -- and she ran races -- in her skirt -- jumped hurdles -- in her skirt. The next year the rules were changed -- at this one fundy school.

I keep shaking may head -- trying to wake up from this nightmare. I keep feeling like I am drifting backward in time and reliving another version of the past.

14. The U.P.C. is the main branch of the church that still believes this

Actually, my wife and I belong to a church that used to be UPC(United Pentecostal Church) affiliated. Women could not wear anything but dresses, could not cut their hair, no jewelry or makeup of any kind. Guys could not have facial hair or wear shorts in the summer. They call it "standards" and if you don't live with it your church can be kicked out of the UPC. We don't have "standards" in our church anymore, but a few still live by it. I say that it's a free country, just don't judge others who don't think like you do.

Kinda sounds like the Republican party, doesn't it?

20. I do
all the time. For some reason Levi's doesn't make "regular jeans" for women any more and guys jeans are too big so I buy my Levi's in the boys department.

But then, I'm going to burn in hell anyway for voting for Kerry so guess this is just one more strike on my list. :)

19. a man in a dress is funny, a woman in pants is a threat
I went to a catholic girls high school. For an off campus field trip we got to wear real clothes. I wore a white button down shirt, a thin black tie (it was the 80s), a tailored black jacket, khaki pants and the coolest steel toed boots in town. It was so fun. I looked so good. All the other girlies were just carbon copies of each other. Amazingly, no one gave me any shit. During the field trip I noticed that my questions were answered first and taken seriously.
