I was watching Kristol on the Newshour last night. Interesting that the pukes send this draft-dodger out to opine about Kerry's military service.

On a previous TV appearance (Newshour? Can someone help me out here?), Kristol was asked about whether or not he went through the draft. His evasive response was that (paraphrasing) "by the time I would have been eligible, the draft had wound down." Hmmm. The implication was that he didn't bother to register with the SS because the draft was over.

After an Internet search, I came up with William Kristol's birthdate: Dec 12, 1952 (ref: The World Almanac and Book of Facts 2002; pub January 1, 2002; see: http://www.highbeam.com/library/search.asp?FN=AO&refid=ency_refd&search_almanacs=on&refid=ency_refd&q=Lancashire) That means that Kristol would have been legally obligated to register for the draft lottery which took place in August, 1971. His number would have been #171, ie: too high to be sent to 'Nam as 95 was the highest number called that year. No new draft orders were issued after 1972 (source: http://www.sss.gov/HIST.HTM).

So, my question is - did Kristol ever register for the draft? Sure, he wouldn't have had to go, but if he didn't register, then he broke the law.

It's worth looking into.
