Tom Delay, "Republican Family Values"
Of a sort. I keep a file with this title. It's a Word document that I originally thought would be a couple of pages, but it's now 40 pages!! I just added to it with this little gem about Tom "The Hammer" Delay that I found today.

1. Tom "The Hooters" DeLay
Hey, the heck with "The Hammer" or "The Terminator" (his pest extermination business). If Rush can come up with nicknames, why can't we?

4. Wow! That's quite a list.
Thanks for the link. I've bookmarked it for future reference.

My list is more general. My intent was to address it from the perspective of, "Would you hand your children over to the care of these idiots that spout the Family Values crap? I looked for things they did that would hurt families or show cruelty to others, or outright hypocrisy. Here's a sample from my file:

Center for Family Values.
Guess who's the director of this organization? Jim Harnsberger, of San Diego, who was married five times and owes $18,000 to the child of his third marriage.

Rep. Henry Hyde
Broke up a family during his seven-year adulterous affair. He claims to champion "family values", but his affair with a married woman broke up her marriage and left her husband embittered. Hyde claimed that Clinton's trivial lies are a grave threat to the nation, but vigorously defended Oliver North and other perpetrators of the grossly illegal and unconstitutional Iran-Contra scandal.

Tim Hutchinson
In 1996 when he first ran for the Senate, he styled himself as a conservative, family-values Republican. The breakdown of the American family, he said, was a critical national issue. The problem is that in 1999 Hutchinson - a Southern Baptist minister - divorced his wife of 29 years, Donna, with whom he had three sons, and shortly afterward married a former member of his office staff, Randi Fredholm. (NYT, 5.15.02)

Mike Bowers
Georgia gubernatorial candidate Mike Bowers admitted to a 15-year extramarital affair with Ann Davis, a onetime Playboy Club waitress who worked for him while he was serving as state attorney general! Special angle: When Bowers was attorney general, he prosecuted a gay man in what became a famous Supreme Court case (Bowers vs. Hardwick) upholding anti-sodomy laws.

Ronald Reagan
Dumped Jane Wyman by cheating on her with several Hollywood starlets. His son Michael, is the adopted son of Jane Wyman and Reagan, and wasn't even allowed to live with his father when he remarried. (From) Michael's 1988 memoir, page 89, recalls a painful confrontation with his step-mother, Nancy, in which the second Mrs. Reagan, brandishing his birth records - which had been sealed by the courts, but which she had nevertheless gotten hold of - suggested that Michael abandon his Reagan surname and leave the family home. He was 16 at the time.

Guy Millner
This Georgia candidate for Governor Republican has been married three times, partly because he has sex with women he isn't married to.

Rush Limbaugh
Married three times. Although he was insecure and did not get out much, at 26, he married, but was divorced after three years. His second wife moved out on Christmas weekend of 1988, and their divorce was final in 1990. Maybe his arrest for possession of thousands of illegal prescription drugs, money-laundering, and doctor-shopping will improve his odds with wife #3, but somehow, I doubt it.

George H. Bush
Linda Tripp says he had an affair with a woman named Jennifer Fitzgerald. His son, Neil, jettisoned his wife of 23 years for Maria Andrews, a former assistant to his mother, Barbara.

Mitch Skandalakis
Fulton County (Ga.) Commission Chairman and Republican Georgia Candidate for Lieutenant Governor, allegedly made a midnight phone call from his Las Vegas hotel room at the Riviera Hotel & Casino to a Las Vegas entertainment service that sends exotic dancers to callers rooms. Skandalakis also reported income from Sable Communications, whose owner has plead guilty in the federal probe to bribing Skandalakis fellow Fulton County commissioner Michael Hightower. Skandalakis then became the subject of a rather intensive investigation by federal officials over corruption during his term as CEO. Skandalakis fled to the North Carolina mountains to work in a family retail business.

John Snow
It was revealed that John Snow, the divorced and re-married man nominated by George W. Bush to become (and now is) the new treasury secretary, was once arrested for drunk-driving, and that he refused to pay child support to his ex-wife over a 19 month period.

Senator Bill Frist
The senator's son, Jonathan Frist, was arrested for DUI and possession of alcohol by a minor. Jonathan Frist was pulled over by police around 2:30 a.m and requested that Frist take a field sobriety test. When the boy refused to take a breathalyzer test the officers arrested him. (Sounds like Dubya!) The Senators staff in Washington, D.C. said that as a policy they would not comment on personal family issues.

The Senators family business is HCA Inc. It paid out more than $1.7 billion in fines for billing the government for services ineligible for and inflating expenses, and granted doctors partnerships in company hospitals as a kickback for the doctors referring patients to HCA. In addition, it gave doctors 'loans' that were never expected to be paid back, free rent, free office furniture - and free drugs from hospital pharmacies.

John Warner
Dumped his first wife for Elizabeth Taylor. Then dumped Elizabeth! He remarried in January of 2004.

Rep. Roy Blunt
Rep. Roy Blunt (R-Mo.), the House majority whip, is getting married. The wedding is planned for mid-October.. This will be the second marriage for Blunt, 53, who got divorced last year, and the first for Perlman, 41 who just happens to be a lobbyist - the head of government affairs for Altria, the parent company of Philip Morris.
The soon-to-be Mrs. Majority Whip will still be allowed to lobby rank and file members of the House.

Dennis Hastert
And step forward Christian Coalition member Dennis Hastert, whose son was arrested for drunk driving. (Top 10 Conservative Idiots, Week 8, 05 March 2001)

Bill Randall
A Florida Congressional candidate and minister, who has campaigned on ethics and family values, has acknowledged fathering an illegitimate son with another woman while he was separated from his wife. He has pleaded guilty to writing a bad check, and owes the IRS $22,660 in interest and penalties after a failed business venture.

Bill McCartney
Promise Keepers founder who didn't keep his Promise to his wife and then lied about it for 20 years. On top of that he admits to alcoholism, a terrible temper, a hot-and-cold approach to parenting their four children, and his take-no-prisoners religious life.

Rep. Dan Burton
Had at least six adulterous affairs, and fathered a bastard son who, today, he ignores. Following an expose, Burton was forced to admit that he fathered an out-of-wedlock child, a fact he denied for years. Burton kept mistresses on his campaign and public payrolls to the tune of at least a half-million dollars.

Rudolph (Rudy) Guiliani
Republican Mayor of New York publicly frolics with his assistant in Gracie Mansion while his wife stays home with the kids. The former New York Mayor is twice divorced and wed for a third time in May 2003.

Sen. Strom Thurmond
Cheated on his fourth wife at the age of 88. His relentless pursuit of women as a Senator earned him the nickname "The Sperminator." During the Reagan years, his groping of female guests and dignitaries was so out of control that Nancy Reagan banned him from all White House events!

David Schippers
As special impeachment counsel to the House Judiciary Committee, Schippers had his own secret mistress for 25 years and had the nerve to bring her to the Judiciary Committee's impeachment hearings. Schippers had 10 children with his wife of 45 years, Jackie, whom he called "his one and only sweetheart. Schippers has been accused of defrauding his partners in a business he set up and hired Ruggero to run.

The Florida Legislature
The House and the Senate have voted for a "reform" bill that says that a Florida worker must lose BOTH eyes, or BOTH arms, or BOTH legs, or BOTH feet.

Ted Nugent
A woman is suing Ted Nugent over child support for her 8-year-old son that she says Nugent fathered. Apparently the woman's lawyer claims that Nugent "acknowledges" that the child is his but has only paid "minimal" child support since he was born.

Gilbert Davis
Former federal prosecutor who filed the suit against President Clinton on behalf of his client, Paula Jones, allowed himself to be videotaped drunk. The videotape, made in a Roanoke, Va. hotel room shows Davis, a heavyset man, reclining in a chair, laughing and raising a glass to his lips. "That is what you want to do." he says, "Take all your clothes off and expose your body." Here's the kicker: Gil Davis later, if you can believe this, became a candidate for Attorney General of Virginia.

Gov. Kirk Fordice
The Governor crashed his state-leased Jeep Cherokee after getting drunk with his mistress, Ann G. Creson of Memphis. Fordice bought a $230,000 home that he's setting up for his new gal and himself after he finishes his second term in office. He divorced his wife a few weeks after he left office, and shortly thereafter married his mistress in 2000, only to divorce again in 2003. That's a second divorce in four years!!

Mr. Beverly Russell
Russell began molesting Susan Smith when she was 15. He continued to have sex with her even during her marriage to the children's father. He was still having sex with her just a few months before she drowned her kids. After Susan's conviction he finally admitted to molesting her. All the while, Beverly Russell was a leader in the Republican Party, the Christian Coalition, and Pat Robertson's presidential campaign.

Dick Armey
Dick is on his second marriage. Three women who had been students of Armey's when he was a college teacher reported that he engaged in inappropriate behavior. Army denied it. Coincidently, Armeys second wife had been one of his students! How odd.

Bob Barr
Is on his third marriage. Photographs show him licking whipped cream off the breast of a stripper. Allegedly lied under oath about adulterous sex during a 1986 deposition. Dumped his second wife Gail and their two sons (ages 5 and 4) just before Thanksgiving in 1985. When Gail was diagnosed with breast cancer, she asked her husband to stop campaigning for the statehouse, but he refused. One of the leading crusaders for the pro-life crazies admitted on Larry King that he indeed wrote a check to an abortion doctor to "murder" his unborn daughter. When asked why he did that, he looked Larry King in the eye and said, because we had a joint checking account.

Gary Bauer
Nine members of Bauer's staff quit in protest of Gary Bauer's "inappropriate behavior in traveling alone and spending time behind closed doors with a 26-year-old deputy campaign manager. An unnamed source in the Bauer campaign said that Bauer has been traveling alone with this hot 26-year old blond (deputy campaign manager Melissa McClard) on a daily basis and the two have been so inseparable that it was like a "husband-wife relationship."

Dick Cheney
The vice-president of the United States has also been arrested multiple times for DWI. Despite having daughter who is a lesbian, opposes gay rights laws and supports people who oppose rights for homosexuals. Served on a ticket with a candidate who supported criminalization of homosexual sex. Voted against allowing the federal government to collect data on violent crimes based on sexual orientation.

Lynne Cheney
Went so far as to deny her daughter's lesbianism entirely, despite her daughter's open admission.

Phil Gramm
Invested $7,500 in a soft-core porn movie in 1974. He is on his second wife.

Bob Livingston
"I have on occasion strayed from my marriage, and doing so nearly cost me my marriage and my family." Allegedly had sex with lobbyists included those who represented the defense industry. The GOP Speaker-to-never-be, cheated on his wife Bonnie with at least four women.

Florida (State) Rep. John McKay
During a divorce, his wife accused him of having an affair with a young telecommunications lobbyist. The newspapers ran with it. A week later, McKay admitted he was involved with the woman, resigned as chairman of the state's (Florida) powerful Ways and Means Committee.

Laura Schlessinger
Has encouraged her husband to forget his family. Has admitted to having sex before marriage in college. She is herself divorced, and had an affair with another man while she was married, and had an affair with her current husband while he was with his previous wife.

Gordon Shadburne
Gordon Shadburne was a conservative Christian county commissioner in Portland, Oregon. When he was found to have used county money to take his sweetheart shopping in Edmonton, Alberta. The papers had a field day, and he was forced to resign. His sweetheart was a man! Shadburne quit amid allegations of cocaine use and pile-on orgies, and was convicted twice of using county money for personal business.

Rep. J.C. Watts (R-Okla.)
Allegedly while a teen, he sired two out-of-wedlock children with two different women. Abandoned his sister, who had problems with drugs. Once she was arrested, he turned his first visit with her in more than a year into a photo opportunity. This is the guy that, in a speech at the Republican National Convention, said, Character is doing the right thing when no one is looking.

Tennessee State Representative. Rep. Keith Westmoreland
The Tennessee lawmaker has been arrested for indecent exposure. Investigators say the state representative exposed himself several times to a group of kids outside a hotel swimming pool in Florida. Westmoreland is accused of exposing himself on four different occasions to several kids under the age of 16.

George Will
Will, the conservative columnist, is a vicious critic of moral relativity, committed adultery against his first wife, Madeleine; when she found out, she dumped his clothing in a pile in the driveway with a sign saying "Take it somewhere else, buster." Soon after the alleged incident, Will and his wife separated, then later divorced. Will's divorce left his wife with their Downs syndrome daughter.

Representative Joe Scarborough (R-FL)
The congressman (an ardent and vocal supporter of G.W., by the way) was divorced from his wife amid rumors of marital fidelity. The congressman resigned only six months after re-election to spend more time with his sons. It may also be because Lori Klausutis, his aide in the congressmans Fort Walton Beach office, was found dead in the congressman's District Office!

NC Rep. Sue Myrick
Cheated on her husband and left him for another man. In 1989, Myrick was running for a second term as Charlotte mayor when news reports revealed that she committed adultery with a married man in 1973. Myrick admitted the adultery and won reelection.

Rep. Ken Calvert (R-CA)
His ex-wife sued this champion of the Christian Coalition and its family values as an alimony deadbeat.

Rep. John Peterson (R-PA)
Accused of sexual harassment and creation of a hostile work environment by six women. Accused of forced kissing and unwelcome groping of women among them a page (a page is of high school age!), a staffer and a lobbyist in the workplace over a decade

Michael Huffington
The Former GOP Congressman who cheated on his wife Arianna with another man.

Oklahoma Lt. Gov Mary Fallin
Who had an alleged adulterous affair with her Security Guard - a state trooper. Mrs. Fallin, a Republican, has filed for divorce from her husband, dentist Joe Fallin.

Rep. Helen Chenoweth
Reported to have had sex with numerous male members of the Idaho legislature. She had an affair with her former boss, former U.S. senator Steve Symms, and admitted to a six-year sexual relationship with a married man.

Richard Anthony Delgaudio
Richard Anthony Delgaudio is a prominent Republican fundraiser and president of the Legal Affairs Council, "a group that helped pay the legal bills of former Reagan administration officials Oliver L. North and Caspar W. Weinberger after they were charged in connection with the Iran-contra affair," according to the Baltimore Sun. He's also a convicted child pornographer. Delgaudio took "lewd photographs" of a 16-year-old girl he met in a Baltimore park - some of the photographs showed him having sex with the girl. Richards brother:

Eugene Delgaudio
Eugene is executive director of Public Advocate of the United States, a lobbying group that reports spending more than $5 million between 1997 and 2000 on a nationwide campaign that has often vilified gays as pedophiles and violent criminals. According to its Web site, the lobby fights "for family values and against the radicals in the homosexual lobby who wish to tear down the American family." "Eugene believes honesty and loyalty are very important." (By Anne Keisman. Loudon Times Mirror, 10/31/2003 Times Community Newspapers 2003)

Rep. Darrell Issa, Calif.
Apparently back in 1980 he was prosecuted along with his brother for "allegedly faking the theft of Issa's Mercedes Benz sedan and selling it to a car dealer for $16,000" according to the San Francisco Chronicle. "Issa, in a phone interview with The Chronicle Tuesday, blamed his brother for the car theft ... 'I do not steal,' Issa said ... He blamed his brother for the San Jose arrest."

Funnily enough, that wasn't the first time that Issa had been involved in a car theft prosecution. Apparently back in 1972 he was "indicted with his brother William on a charge of felony grand theft for allegedly stealing a red Maserati sports car from a car dealership in Cleveland." Again, Issa took full responsibility, claiming "he had been wrongly implicated because his brother William had an arrest record ...'I am not my brother. I am not my brother's keeper.'"

Pat Robertson
According to the Religious News Service of October 9, 1987, when he married, his wife was already seven months pregnant. An angry Robertson said, ' I think it is outrageous to pry into a man's past and try to do damage to a man's wife and children under the guise of journalism.'" Robertson also lied about his Marine Corps service, his father getting him out of combat, and his drinking and whoring while in Korea. His support to, and profit from Liberian strongman man Taylor, is disgusting.

Mike Trout
Trout, 53, is best known as the on-air partner of founder and leader of the ministry Focus on the Family, has resigned from the conservative Christian group because he had an extramarital affair. Trout, who has been married for 31 years, declined to discuss details of the extramarital relationship.
