How do you feel about the return of Rush Limbaugh?
After resigning from ESPN and going through rehab for a drug addiction, how do you feel about Rush Limbaugh returning full time to the airwaves tomorrow?

1. It is a tragedy for the country. His dittoheads stupidity increases
exponentially with each program aired by Limbaugh.

2. Another Republican felon on the loose...
Shows how much they really care about law and order. (Remember that Republican code phrase? Translation: crazy black people coming to rape and murder you, vote Republican.)

3. He should be arrested

as soon as he steps foot in Florida.

We should start a phone in campaign with the State Attorney of WPB demanding that Limbaugh be charged for the crimes that he has publicly confessed too.

State Attorney Palm Beach County: 561-355-7100

According to the media they are the ones who have Rush under investigation. If Rush is allowed to get back on the air after his third time in rehab, then why is anyone else in jail for drug offenses?

5. I think it's funny
how they say keep saying he is fully recovered. I've been clean and sober for 11yrs. and I'm not fully recovered. It's an ongoing process. Maybe he just found a Dr. who will prescribe him what he wants so he doesn't have send someone out on the streets.

Fat cats pushed Limbaugh on us, they pushed Bush on us... it's how America feels and how we fight back.

Your thoughts?

8. His situation is the same as other celebrities
Look how many drug arrests it took to throw Robert Downey, Jr. in jail. He was arrested four or five times before going to prison. As far as Limbaugh going to jail, he won't unless he was actually caught with the drugs. By all accounts I've read, he wasn't in possession of any narcotics, thus there's nothing to warrant jail time. He probably will admit to buying Oxycontin, etc. illegally, but this won't get him into jail. Even if he'd admitted to buying cocaine or herion, but didn't have the drugs in his possession, he wouldn't go to jail. He'll probably be used to testify against his suppliers.

13. Yeah
But the funny thing is that Downey was ARRESTED several times and he had to face a judge, and he was ordered to rehab. Rush just went off the air for a month and checked himself in for commiting a crime. If he gets the cuffs slapped on him and faces a judge, then I think it would be a fair comparison.

14. 3 Outcomes:
Edited on Mon Nov-17-03 10:54 AM by Homer12
1. Rush stays the same

2. Rush becomes more moderate in his positions since he's been through drug addiction and sees his own hypocrisy.

3. Rush becomes an even more vehiment hateful person, whom could care less about his hypocrisy, and will USE his disease to make himself more money and try to get back on top in AM hate radio world.

(I think #3 is more probable, but I'd gladly eat my own words)

16. Having read...
A newspaper article on it this morning, I find his comments about "Linguini-spined liberals" amusing. If it weren't for that linguini, there wouldn't be a stinking 12 step program for him. And I like linguini. *chews.*

17. He wiggles in his chair
when he talks. My mom saw a video of him returning to air and she said he actually wiggled in his chair. *shudders* glad I didn't see it.
But I really think that he didn't do enough rehab time. One, it would keep him from the airwaves longer, and two, is he really cured after this short amount of time? I think not.
I also found it suprising that 3 or 4 times more than the normal amount of listeners tuned in today. I know they're not all dittoheads, probably a lot of Democrats listened to hear what the pig had to say.

19. as if he was ever gone in the first place?
I have such low expectations. I figured he will always be misleading his dittoheads.
They would be lost otherwise. Maybe he fills an ecological niche - as a media bottom feeder. As part of the political spectrum he does give contrast to what is honerable and good.

20. Will and Grace
receive nearly the same number of weekly viewers/listeners.

At least that was the case before he hit the National Enquirer as a topic of conversation...a paper that he should be writing for considering his misleading headlines.

The guy is such a jerk that even his supporters cannot continue to remain clueless...then again, this is America...I think that his popularity will wane after he becomes old news.

Jail? Not likely.

Shut your face embarrasment? He's got a big ego and probably not enough of a sense of reality to shut up...he'll probably wither away eventually because his viewership will have enough sense to be to embarrased to support him...but, then again, like I said before...this is America and we sure seem to like to remain ignorant...at least some 15-20 million Rush listeners per week do.

JMO

Anybody follow his recent numbers?
