Palin Contradicts Her Own Version Of Events With Oprah
Posted by CBSNews.com
By special contributor Shushannah Walshe and CBS News' Scott Conroy, co-authors of the book "Sarah From Alaska: The Sudden Rise And Brutal Education Of A New Conservative Superstar"

In a segment of her interview with Oprah Winfrey, which was posted online but did not air on television, Sarah Palin was asked whether her family had voted on her decision to accept John McCain's offer to join him on the Republican ticket in August of 2008.

"This time, there wasn't a family vote," Palin told Winfrey. "Other steps in my political life, I've polled the kids, and I have abided by some of the results of the polls that the kids have partaken in. This time, no."

But in September of 2008, .... "It was a time of asking the girls to vote on it, anyway," Palin told Hannity. "And they voted unanimously, yes. Didn't bother asking my son because, you know, he's going to be off doing his thing anyway, so he wouldn't be so impacted by, at least, the campaign period here" ...

1. Oh, please, you can't be serious.
This is one of the reasons Palin continues to be a news item, even when it's not news. This is nit picking at its silliest.

3. I dunno. Look through some recent posts in the B/C forum. Palin's comments
are reliably inaccurate. As a single inaccuracy, this particular self-contradiction wouldn't count for much -- but in a larger context, it's actually rather indicative of her personality and thought processes, I think

4. No, it's another example of her state of confusion
about nothing in particular and everything in general. She has no clue...a true idiot if I ever saw one.

2. Palin can't even remember her own lies
Keep talking Sarah - dig that hole a bit deeper.

5. I would be more concerned about her policy stands
She might look attractive in a few years if this administration keeps down this path of many unfulfilled promises and outright contradictions of transparency, etc.

6. Welcome to DU!
:hi: First, she will have to formulate some policies. She couldn't even answer a simple soft-ball question like, "What do you read?"

Winking and batting eyelashes during a debate only go so far. She needs to show she has some substance and I don't think she has any.

7. Palin and the like is NOT a threat IF...
...Obama takes care of business. However, IF high unemployment remains, promises go unfulfilled and other calamaties abound, Palin and company will be a threat to Obama winning a second term. By the way, don't discount Palin. If Bush won, twice, anybody can win.

8. Airhead!
And there are a lot of white-bread Republicans who admire this twit! Obviously Republicans have less brains than I gave them credit for. To tell you the truth, that just didn't seem possible until now.
