1. Pass the salt and pepper.
RINOs go down easier with some seasoning.

4. May I suggest
Tony Chachere's Creole Seasoning? A wonderful blend of spices that accents any dish without overwhelming it. Every kitchen table should have Tony Chachere's on it.

5. Doesn't paleocon=Goldwater conservative?
It just reminds me of how John Dean's been saying that Goldwater would be considered a liberal in today's political climate. I'm not sure I buy it,but it's a pretty striking statement.

9. Yes, but he's caved to the religious right often enough
that the backs of his shoes have gone completely round from going over backwards. His ROOTS are paleocon. The present is considerably less savory.

12. Chuck Hagel's turn today

What a complete limp-wristed, purse-swinging, bed-wetting POS this senator is.

Hagel is a RINO, and has been for some time.

Sad thing is I know the man.

Here is the cover of the NYTimes Magazine in March of this year, referring to that publicity hound, Hagel, as the "heartland iconoclast," or the heartland senator of bombast. There isn't any conservative principle that this man wouldn't betray, there isn't any conservative he wouldn't stab in the back to advance his own selfish political interests. Hagel is loyal only to hagel.

13. When will they get around to Curt Weldon
Curt Weldon, R-PA 7th has publicly praised an anti-Bush video. And not just any anti-Bush video, but the one by BYU physics professor Steven E. Jones which accuses the Bush administration of deliberately allowing 9/11 to happen and placing explosives in the three tallest World Trade Center buildings to make sure that they would be totally destroyed on 9/11. Unbelievable? Just have a look here:

http://republican.meetup.com/92/boards/view/viewthread?thread=1870074

The anti-Bush video that opened Weldon's eyes can be seen here:

14. WWW.GOPPROGRESS.COM - Crazy conservative politicians' quotes
5 "It does not affect your daily life very much if your neighbor marries a box turtle. But that does not mean it is right. Now you must raise your children up in a world where that union of man and box turtle is on the same legal footing as man and wife." Sen. John Cornyn (2004)

Sen. Cornyn deftly identifies that there is something wrong with anyone who wants to spend the rest of their life romantically and legally bound with a reptile that lives in a shell. And succeeds in making people think that two dudes wanting to swap rings is the least of our worries.

4 " the foundational principle of our nation." Kentucky Gov. Ernie Fletcher (2006)

News flash: a great fraud has been perpetrated on the American people by high school history teachers everywhere. They've been telling us for years that the foundational principle of our nation was liberty, when the whole time it was creationism by another name! Thanks for clearing that up, Gov. Fletcher.

3 "Lesbianism is so rampant in some of the schools in southeast Oklahoma that they'll only let one girl go to the bathroom." Sen. Tom Coburn (2004)

The popular media would have us believe that lesbians favor San Francisco over every other US city. But Sen. Coburn outwits them again, clarifying that when you're talking underage lesbians, McAlester and Durant, Oklahoma, are where it's at. For all you sixteen year-old girls out there looking for a hot chick to take to the school dance this Fall, I'd pay a visit to Sen. Coburn's home state.

2 "Priests, like all of us, are affected by culture ... When the culture is sick, every element in it becomes infected. While it is no excuse for this scandal, it is no surprise that Boston, a seat of academic, political and cultural liberalism in America, lies at the center of the storm." Sen. Rick Santorum (2002)

Sen. Santorum plays pop psychologist, and a whole nation scratches its head in wonder.

1 "The causes of youth violence are working parents who put their kids into daycare, the teaching of evolution in the schools, and working mothers who take birth control pills." Rep. Tom DeLay (1999)

Tom DeLay shows us all why our Democratic and Independent friends think the GOP is a party of mentalists. And why we often think they might be right.

15. The Conservative Case Against Rudy Giuliani In 2008

Rudy Giuliani, a contender for the Presidency in 2008, is receiving an inordinate amount of positive attention. That's quite understandable since Rudy is charismatic, did a great job on the campaign trail for President Bush in 2004, and his phenomenal performance after 9/11 was much appreciated.

However, likeable or not, having Rudy as the GOP's candidate in 2008 would be a big mistake. Here's a short, but sweet primer on some of Rudy's many flaws.

(the highlights)

Rudy's Strong Pro-Abortion Stance

An Anti-Second Amendment Candidate

Soft On Gay Marriage

Pro-Illegal Immigration

He Can't Keep His Pants Up

Rudy Giuliani: A More Charismatic Version Of Arlen Specter

Conclusion

Despite all of his charisma and the wonderful leadership he showed after 9/11, Rudy Giuliani is not a Reagan Republican. To the contrary, Giuliani is another Christie Todd Whitman, another Arlen Specter, another Olympia Snowe. He's a throwback to the "bad old days" before Reagan, when the GOP was run by moderate Country Club Republicans who considered conservatives to be extremists. Trying to revive that failed strategy again is likely to lead to a Democratic President in 2008 and numerous setbacks for the Republican Party.

16. Tom Kean, Jr.'s turn today - eating and being eaten
Kean steps to forefront of president's GOP critics
In the thick of a hotly contested U.S. Senate race, Republican Tom Kean Jr. has decided to make a sharp break from George W. Bush, saying the president has made "horrendous mistakes" in Iraq, is "dead wrong" on the environment and also wrong to limit stem cell research. Kean issued a scathing critique of his party's standard-bearer during an hourlong interview with The Star-Ledger. Kean labeled the federal response to Hurricane Katrina a failure and rebuked Bush for allowing federal spending to balloon without issuing a single veto.

Such criticisms might be standard fare for a Democrat but are as sharp as any yet from a Republican running in the midterm election under the cloud of the president's low approval ratings.

Kean, a state senator from Union County, sat down at a Westfield diner for an interview specifically to highlight his differences with Bush as he heads into the final lap of his close race with Democratic U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez. Kean spoke Thursday, the day his campaign unveiled a video ad on the Web that never mentions Kean's party affiliation and touts the 38-year-old son of former Gov. Tom Kean as an "independent reformer."

He said he was unconcerned about any partisan fallout from his comments. "If it means that I'm angering the White House, so be it," he said. Between sips of hot water with lemon wedges, Kean ran through a litany of issues in which he took exception to administration policies. "There have been horrendous mistakes made in the war in Iraq," Kean said. "The president should acknowledge that. He needs to level with the American people." Asked to cite examples, Kean said, "How much time do we have?"

The Star-Ledger

I have never viewed Kean as anything but a RINO....right there with Snowe, Collins, Graham and McLame.
