CBS Defends Scrubbing Anti-Bush Super Bowl Ad
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=597&e=12&u=/nm/media_superbowl_bush_dc
"Rep. Bernie Sanders, an Independent from Vermont, sent a letter co-signed by 26 other congressmen to CBS President Leslie Moonves on Wednesday criticizing the network for refusing to run the commercial from activist group MoveOn.org, that criticizes Bush over the rising U.S. deficit. "

Looks like CBS is trying to do damage control, because they know thier ratings are gonna suck! Did the Bush Nazi Clan threaten them or what? Isnt CBS running 2 Bush ads? :puke:

2. CBS - Conservative Broadcast System
It's worse. I called their "comment" line today on my break at work. Would you believe the person on the other end started to debate? I said it was inconsistent of CBS to run the anti-drug advocacy ads but not the anti-budget ads; inconsistent to run the anti-smoking ads, but not the pro-vegetarian ads (I eat meat myself). The woman starts ARGUING with me! Saying everyone knows drugs are bad. When I started to say that these anti-drug ads were made political by the link to terrorism, she stated that was true. I was so shocked by her audacity that I couldn't launch a good counter. I mean, I work in telephone customer service, have for years and you don't argue with a customer who calls to complain!

Apparently, CBS is more interested in kissing the butts of the Republicans (as evidenced by their yanking the Reagan special) than listening to what most of their viewers have to say. I am not only boycotting the Super Bowl, but am seriously considering not watching CSI or Survivor anymore. Two of my favorite shows, but I won't support that kind of blatant partisanship. It's almost a miracle they showed the O'Neill segment on 60 Minutes.

there is as much agreement that the budget deficit is too big as there is
There is as much agreement that the budget deficit is too big as there is on almost any issue.

More people would tell you that we shouldn't have tv ads promoting McDonald's than that we shouldn't have tv ads about the budget deficit.
