Excuse me while I state the obvious
USA Radio and TV

RW corporate conservative ownership dominates.
Many news stories do not make it to the air or if they do they are tilted RW.
The rest is consumer fluff or braindead "entertainment".

But the RWnutz want us to believe since many reporters are not CONs that they must be the ones who control what gets aired as opposed the owners.
As if the reporters dictate how the corporation is run to their bosses.

2. glad you separated print
radio and tv (and some internet) take the large amounts of capital to produce that tend to favor...wait for it...people with lots and lots of money. cable satellite based news especially is sort of a lost cause to begin with if you think pure information is free. it costs too much to setup a foreign bureau and to run stories over live satellite video that dont make someone money.

3. Hi, I'd like to join in on stating the obvious too
Tell me about it. Last week the local media did a story that just makes my blood boil. Maybe I'm a little too left for sanity, but the local news (KMGH Denver 7 to be specific) did a story about how young people should join the military if they can't find a job. So what's my problem with that? Well considering how we're in TWO wars with our young people dying left and right, I just cannot begin to describe how irresponsible I feel this is.

Here's a link to the news story:

http://www.thedenverchannel.com/politics/21284834/detail.html

And here's my response, which is now conveniently missing:

I am disturbed that you do not even give credence to the moral implications and connections regarding this news story. People need to remember that military service requires picking up a gun and killing somebody. I find it no coincidence that both military recruitment spikes and the recession happen to coincide with an unpopular outgoing Republican president faced with an increasingly unpopular war he had launched with illicit cause and absolute dogmatic determination to "stay the course." There is no doubt in my mind that the recession was staged precisely to force people to either choose to kill for their country or starve in poverty.

Yes, I do honestly believe that the economic downturn was intentionally engineered by the Bush administration to force people to sign up for his warmongering machine of global conquest. It sounds like an exaggeration, sure, but now that I've seen it I'm convinced its true.

To bring this back into the realm of being on-topic, KMGH Denver 7 is owned by McGraw Hill, with ties to ties to Laura "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Dutton_Douglas>I killed a guy and got away with it" Bush. The right-wing stint of this station is incredible and it's easy to see that the family influence is really working.

I'd like to organize a protest of KMGH 7 for this story, and of course if any of you happen to be in the Denver area and want to join in I'd do what I can to organize it.
