Tell me about it. Last week the local media did a story that just makes my blood boil. Maybe I'm a little too left for sanity, but the local news (KMGH Denver 7 to be specific) did a story about how young people should join the military if they can't find a job. So what's my problem with that? Well considering how we're in TWO wars with our young people dying left and right, I just cannot begin to describe how irresponsible I feel this is.
Here's a link to the news story:

I am disturbed that you do not even give credence to the moral implications and connections regarding this news story. People need to remember that military service requires picking up a gun and killing somebody. I find it no coincidence that both military recruitment spikes and the recession happen to coincide with an unpopular outgoing Republican president faced with an increasingly unpopular war he had launched with illicit cause and absolute dogmatic determination to "stay the course." There is no doubt in my mind that the recession was staged precisely to force people to either choose to kill for their country or starve in poverty.
Yes, I do honestly believe that the economic downturn was intentionally engineered by the Bush administration to force people to sign up for his warmongering machine of global conquest. It sounds like an exaggeration, sure, but now that I've seen it I'm convinced its true.
To bring this back into the realm of being on-topic, KMGH Denver 7 is owned by McGraw Hill, with ties to ties to Laura "
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Dutton_Douglas>I killed a guy and got away with it" Bush. The right-wing stint of this station is incredible and it's easy to see that the family influence is really working.
I'd like to organize a protest of KMGH 7 for this story, and of course if any of you happen to be in the Denver area and want to join in I'd do what I can to organize it.
