Edward R. Murrow-*He* was a newsman!
I got one of the "Best of ERM" disks from Netflix yesterday. This one contains the documentary that PBS did of him in 1990. In 1958 he said that the broadcasting industry was "fat, comfortable, and complacent" and television was "being used to detract, delude, amuse and insulate us."

I can only imagine what he'd say about the state of it today...
