CNN is far more insidous than FOX
Edited on Sat Sep-18-04 11:18 AM by Stevendsmith
They masquerade as a credible news organization. They don't have the right wing circus atmosphere that FOX has. To the uninitiated, they appear to be a more staid, "fair n' balanced" channel. Their White House shilling is, by comparison, more subtle than the blustering of FOX.

After watching off and on throughout the day yesterday, I'm convinced that, like FOX, CNN has a "memo" system.

Yesterday's theme was:

"Despite the difficulties in Iraq, President Bush carries a COMMANDING lead over the flip-flopping, multiple-personality, hapless candidate John Kerry, whose bid for the White House is all but over."

I swear they were pumping this theme all god damn day.

2. That is why I refer to them as the Cesspool News Network. I
don't watch CNN anymore because I become physically ill.

3. I agree
I don't watch it anymore. CNN pretends to be fair, but they do have an agenda. One exception--Lou Dobbs. They allow him to be fair, why I don't know. I guess so they can sleep at night...

8. Maybe it's part of his contract
I believe they "laid him off" in the past but then decided to hire him back whenever the show he had hosted was tanking without him. Maybe he forced them to agree to not make him shill as a part of his contract in coming back to the network. haha Actually, I'm just kidding about all that but CNN is definitely getting worse and worse these days... Dobbs is OK for a Repug, and Aaron Brown is occasionally alright, too. Carville and Begala are good commentators. The rest of the folks on CNN pretty much suck.

13. Yes. Other than a few exceptions, CNN is the Conservative (Neo) Network.

4. You would not believe the looks I get when I tell my friends I
don't watch CNN because I refuse to watch governmnet propaganda. They all argue that comment. I really can't watch 99% of the news on any channel. I am so glad CSPN broadcast the conventions so I was able to watch the Democratic convention with those idiot commentators.

5. What gives?
Just because "things aren't going your way" you're going to blame a news organization. First let me say I am for Kerry BUT dang come on, things aren't going in his favor right now. Just because CNN is reporting "bad news" doesn't make it the problem. COME ON! Democrats and Repubs need to grow up. The repubs are doing all they can to beat Kerry and Edwards down and the democrats can't come up with a counter punch. Does Bush deserve to be re-elected? NO. Is Fox helping bush and company? YES. Heck, the repubs hate CNN cuz they actually tell what's going on in Iraq VERSUS the "o everything's fine" report ya get on FOX.

7. I used to think CNN was fair
Then I watched CBC news when I was in Canada on vacation over Easter weekend. It was shocking to see newscasters obviously not reading from a government issued script.

11. CBS definitely ain't left wing.
Air America is left wing, but CBS has edged further to the right of center than one would think.

10. You know what's funny?
I actually found Fox to have more balanced coverage of the elections this morning than I did any of the others.

kerry didn't exist for the rest of them, but when Fox was covering the windsurfing commerical issue, they actually gave equal coverage to both sides.

it was surreal.

and there was no sniping. and it was Fox and Friends.

i know. crazy.
