College for Everyone by Edwards
Good stuff from the Edwards Blog <http://blog.johnedwards2004.com/>:
The Associated Press writes:

Edwards' $3 billion-a-year "College for Everyone" plan would provide one year of free tuition at state schools or community colleges for students who agree to work 10 hours a week. He described it as part of a larger effort to ensure today's children inherit a strong nation from their adult leaders.

"Every minute this president is in office, we get closer and closer to ending this basic bargain between the young and old," he said. "During the course of the last three years it's become harder and harder and harder for young people just like you to have the same chance I had, the opportunity to do what you're capable of doing. The good news is, it can be fixed."

The high school stop was one of four Edwards had scheduled around the state Tuesday in his effort to hold 100 town-hall meetings before the New Hampshire primary, tentatively set for Jan. 27. Despite his frequent visits, he was at only 3 percent in the latest poll of New Hampshire voters.

What is the response of President Bush to the education crisis? He cuts college loans, he cuts funding, and he is responsible for an unfunded mandate for our schools. What is the response of John Edwards? A promise to our younger generation that we will be there for them.

2. This is a great proposal. Edwards highlights his platform of opportunity.
He will work for "regular" people.

3. This is a great idea!
And I think this should only be the beginning. More insentives and aid should be given. I hope Edwards pulls the Clinton underdog. I'd love to see him run against Bush.
