What is so hilarious about that aritcle is that it's author is trying to convince the readers that even though Bush's policies are anti-gay, he's really super close to gay people he really cares about. It's one huge contradiction. This is a hint about what I posted about not fearing Civil Unions being harmful to Dean. The far right will go balistic if Bush doesn't go after Civil Unions...but if he does, he offends the middle. He can't win.

that the gay community and their supporters are a much larger and more important part of America than they wanted to believe. Bush sure didn't sound very compassionate towards gays in his 'marriage is for a man and a woman' speech.
