Anyone want to predict what Lieberman's fundraising total will be by end
of 3rd quarter? And do you think that his poll numbers will drop, especially in Iowa and NH?

Based on him being 2-2 on being booed by the crowd in 2 forums, what are the odds that this will drive donors away from him?

And is Al From kicking himself in the rear for supporting Lieberman?

2. Did he ever even report his fundraising for the 2nd quarter?
I know he was hedging on this.

From what I have read Joe has a small, rich, loyal base, but that's it.

Go home Joe; it's over.

You are embarrassing yourself bec you are SO last century.

7. Required by law.
Forget where it is. The "pro-Israel no matter what crimes they pull" people, and the insurance companies and banks are always good contributors for him, because he loves their policies. That's why he didn't really go after Enron when he had the chance.

Give it up, Joe. The people are energized by people like Kucinich, who takes NO CORPORATE CONTRIBUTIONS!!

8. Yes he did -- every candidate has to report this
Edited on Wed Aug-13-03 01:15 PM by dolstein
Lieberman raised more than Gephardt and Graham (and many times more than Kucinich, Shaprton and Mosely Braun), about as much as Edwards, and less than Kerry and Dean.

Why on earth would you think that Lieberman would violate election law and refuse to report his fundraising totals?

5. Oh God Forbid!!!
Okay I'll admit Joe Liberman is kind of a weak candidate (I have this tendancy to judge politicians by their effectiveness more than their politics) but god forbid he's for a strong defense. God forbid he's actually trying to get some Republican votes so he can win an election... I mean look at Tony Blair he's a fiscal and social liberal who advocates strong defense and people love him (or at least Americans do). Personally I think the first guy who needs to drop out is Dick Gephardt, I was a big fan of his until he started to open his mouth. Now I'm glad that he can't get any campaign contributions.

6. Lieberman attracting Republican votes?
He may attract the right wing Xtian votes, but Dean appeals to moderate and sensible Republicans who have come to realize that Bush is a disaster to this nation's future.

9. Honestly, why do you care?
After all, you're not supporting him.

I suspect he'll raise somewhere between 3 and 6 million. The projections for last quarter were wildly off-base. Lieberman ended up having a better fundraising quarter than Gephardt and Graham, and was about even with Edwards. I wouldn't expect him to raise the most money this quarter, but then again, I don't think getting booed by a bunch of drunken, obnoxious Dean supporters is necessarily the worst thing that could happen to Lieberman. Believe it or not, most Democrats aren't nearly as left-wing as you are.
