A $50 voucher + $100 in cash.

Rachel and guest Harvard professor Lawrence Lessig discuss campaign financing. Lessig explains how fund raising is driving the agenda in Congress, and guess what - unemployment doesn't raise a lot of money.

Better, Lessig puts forth a proposal to solve this issue. Each citizen would be given a $50 voucher that could be donated to candidate(s) of their choice and each would be allowed to donate $100 on top of that.

A candidate can either accept these donations or independent funding. In theory, this $6.5B could drown such independent funding (about $2B last time around).

Interesting proposal worthy of consideration.

1. This was an incredible interview and I was so impressed with this guy
He was also on with Dylan Ratigan Wed. or Thurs., and he got my attention then too. There's hope! Something can actually be done to defuse the power of Citizens United. Practical suggestions/solutions that are achieveable... I've got to get that book.
