Bill Clinton says race card allegation 'revolting strategy'

(CNN) – Bill Clinton says that he thinks most people in the media are in Barack Obama’s demographic, telling People magazine “There have been times when I thought I was literally lost in a fun house." In an interview hitting newsstands Friday, the former president said his wife Hillary Clinton has been “outspent, dismissed, denigrated, declared dead” this primary season.

Asked whether he likes Obama, Clinton responded that he did not know the Illinois senator very well – but “I think I understand him. There are enough similarities in our childhoods and things that I think I get what he is doing.”

Clinton said the allegation that he and Sen. Clinton played the race card was “cold-blooded, calculated, manipulated, and a revolting strategy,” and that his only campaign season regret was speaking “late at night when I was tired, ‘cause if you are tired or angry, you shouldn’t be talking.”

Clinton told People that after her mother lost the Iowa caucuses, daughter Chelsea “was upset, bawled, went to her employer and said, ‘Look, you got to let me go or give me an indefinite leave of absence. I’m not letting my mother go down like this.’” Does the former president think Chelsea Clinton would consider a run for elected office? “I don’t know. If you had asked me this before Iowa, I would have said ‘No way. She is too allergic to anything we do,” responded Clinton. “But she is really good at it.”

2. WELL SAID - Obama having David search for supporter mis-quotes to chg subject after NH loss was evil
But playing the race card and blaming it on Clinto and selling it to the media was well planned and executed - and when the memo's showing it was pre-planned game up to claim he was just "consolidating his base" and selling that to the media was either skillfull of the result of a hate women media - or at least a hate top boss women media.

3. Bill is right

I think the media is in the bag for Obama also. Hillary is the stronger candidate, and G. Feraro was right. A 'white guy' wouldn't have started out with 90% of the black vote...however, every time bill opens his mouth it hurts hillary.

5. Uh, Obama didn't start out with 90% of black voters supporting him.
Less than a year ago, Clinton was polling at about 60% with that demographic.

And how is it that Bill Clinton, Al Gore, and John Kerry all got nearly 90% of the black vote?

And how come Al Sharpton didn't get more than 20% of the black vote? How about Carol Mosely Braun? Alan Keyes?

You are talking out of your ass, newbie.

7. as of right now he has 90% of black vote
I would have to agree with the "affirmative action candidate" article I remember from February. Obama is the newbie.

4. It's sad to see Bill squander his legacy like this.
And Chelsea needs to stop being a hedge fund manager before I'll even think about supporting her for dogcatcher. She's making her living in what is possibly the most cynically parasitic industry, ever. And I say this as someone who previously worked in health insurance.

6. Now, he thinks he's lost in a fun house...
I thought he was trapped in a fairy tale.

What a moron.

The Clintons don't win and all they can do is make victims out of themselves.

And please. Clinton suggests that he and Obama have "similar childhoods" and he thinks he "understands
him" and gets "what he is doing."

How bizarre. Obama is running for President to change politics and restore our democracy.

Unlike you, Mr. Clinton--Obama dealt with his childhood and processed the pain. You, on the other hand
are an unrecovered sex addict, still living in denial about your own pathology. The notion that you
even try to psychoanalyze Obama or portend to "understand what he is doing" is projecting.

Not every politician is as screwed and dysfunctional as the Clintons.

Geez, someone just get them off the stage.

8. Chelsea was 'bawling' when Hillary lost Iowa? That girl has been way too protected.
She never had to work three jobs to pay for school. She has never lost a parent to a horrible disease. She has never had to go hungry. She has never had to take care of siblings after school each day. The list is limitless.

I like Chelsea. But, the Clintons are way too entitled, and way too used to getting everything they want. Hearing Bill trying to play the sympathy card for Chelsea just because her mom didn't win a race is absolutely disgusting.
