Panetta for CA Gov.
Watch for him to emerge on Friday as a candidate on the CA ballot.
Watch for him to win becuse the Republicans will field at least three candidates.

Watch him be on the short list for Veep in a year's time.

1. the CA buzz
iS that neither Feinstein or Boxer want the job...but that maxine Waters is threatening to run if no one steps up.

Several editorialist in the central Valley are saying that Panetta is the logical choice.. and has no allegiance to Davis.

He sort of pooh poohed the idea when asked last week....but left huge barn doors open.

2. no matter what....
it'll be a farce. I live here in CA, and I predict there will be at least 200 candidates on the ballot.

Hell, I'm considering running myself. All it takes is $3,500 and 65 signatures.

3. It is already a farce
what an inane law. Recalling is fine but supporter of the recallee ought to have an option should the not win.. the two decision ballot is nuts.

4. Waters?
She would lose in a landslie. California is not going to elect the Black Woman from Watts. Maybe that sounds unfair and harsh, but that's the truth.

5. Panetta is a great choice...
he has great experience on balancing the budget as we witnessed during the Clinton years.
He is a professional, which means he will run a strong campaign!

6. Pa-who?
I know who Panetta is, but I think he has mainly regional appeal. It is good to have someone from the central valley to offset the GOP margin there, but I still think Bustamante would be best from that area (Fresno). Panetta is too "federal." So is Feinstein. We need someone who doesn't seem like they're swooping down from far away to take the governorship.
