Clinton: This may be headed to joint ticket
CNN: March 5
Clinton: This may be headed to joint ticket

Clinton said Wednesday the race may result in a joint ticket.

(CNN) – The morning after primary wins in Ohio, Texas, and Rhode Island, Hillary Clinton said she would consider being part of a Democratic “dream ticket” that would include both her and presidential rival Barack Obama.

"That may be where this is headed,” she told the CBS Early Show during a marathon set of appearances on the network morning news shows. “But of course we have to decide who is on the top of ticket. I think the people of Ohio very clearly said that it should be me."

The New York senator has made the claim before. Last month, in one of several interviews where she said the scenario was a possibility, she told a Vibe interviewer: “Of course there is (a chance of a joint ticket). Of course there is. Now neither of us will answer this question because we don’t want to look presumptuous and premature. But it is more than fair to say that — of course there is.”

While Clinton has said a joint ticket is possible, the Obama team has largely avoided making similar statements. Some of the Illinois senator’s campaign surrogates have said they believe the claims benefit Clinton because they may convince Democratic voters drawn to the Illinois senator that a vote for her is essentially a vote for both of them — or a vote for him to head the ballot in eight years, after she has had her two terms on top of the ticket.

Primary season rivals who have successfully shared a presidential ticket after tough nominating fights include Democrats John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, and Republicans Ronald Reagan and George Bush.

1. Geez, she netted ZERO delegate gains...
Edited on Wed Mar-05-08 10:26 AM by TwoSparkles
...and she's all ready got the Presidency in her hands and Obama losing and sitting in the
worst position in the world---her VP. What an insult.

As was demonstrated last night, she would have to win All REMAINING states by 65 percent to win!

No way in hell!

Why does the media allow her to get away with this bullshit? Why are they so quick to write stories
based on her talking points??

And why in the hell was Texas even called, before the caucus results were figured? He might have won
Texas, and she's out celebrating her big giant win--that was a non win!

Geez, nothing like sustaining your entire candidacy on SPIN!

4. You're missing the point

What happened last night is that the once-fabled Obamamentum stumbled to a clumsy halt. His campaign was completely unable to handle several controversies and attacks over the last week or two, and it has given some rational voters, and superdelegates, a serious pause for reconsideration.

The supers that have been switching were largely doing so because of the perception of Obama's inevitability as he racked up a 11-game winning streak. Now that that has been punctured, it is time for a reassessment.

Hopefully Team Obama won't decide to ratchet up the Uncle Tom attacks again, though.

6. You're clouding reality...
What you said is your spin on what happened last night, based on your biased support of Hillary
Clinton.

You can spin and pontificate all you want.

I'm dealing with facts.

Hillary garnered a zero-sum gain in the delegate count last night. That's a fact.

Hillary can only win this nomination if she secures 65 percent in each of the remaining states. That's also a fact.

Hillary is spinning last night, as a big ol' ginormous win---when Texas hasn't even been fully counted. Again,
another fact.

Facts don't count to Hillary or her supporters any more, apparently.

Have fun marching in that PR parade of yours. It's not going to hold up, because smoke and mirrors only
fool people for a little while. Reality will come crashing down and it won't be pretty. Plus, there will
be a backlash, when Dems see that she's trying to spin a non-win into some big mandate for her.

She can't win, according to the math. She's making a fool of herself.

No doubt that Obama's 11-state winning streak has been halted. He'll deal with that reality. It's too bad
that Hillary--and so many of her blindfolded supporters--prop up her marketeering and her ridiculous non-reality
based spin.

7. The day an O-Bot deals in facts is the day we find that unicorns are real
The facts are clear; your man showed how much of a political neophyte he is, neither candidate can win outright before the convention, the superdelegate vote is very much up in the air, and these individuals certainly will decide this election.

8. I'm not disagreeing with you that Obama..
...is relatively green. He is younger than Clinton and he doesn't have
as many years in the political game as Clinton.

NO one is arguing that point.

Funny, that you accuse me of being an "O-Bot" when it is you who has repeatedly sidestepped
the facts, at every turn.

I'm a 43-year old stay-at-home mom who went for Obama after much deliberation. I broke for
Obama due to his expertise as a Constitutional Scholar--which guides his stances on closing
Guantanamo, restoring Habeas, ending illegal wiretaps, ending the war, etc. I'm sick and tired
of Clinton supporters positioning Obama supporters as idiots.

I'm dealing with the facts. Like I said: Texas hasn't been fully counted, yet Hillary
and the media declared it a Clinton win. What happens if Obama wins??? You don't have a problem
with a state being called before the final vote count is in?

I'm also dealing with the math facts. Hillary can't win unless she garners 65 percent in each state.
She won't have enough delegates to win, so she's spinning non-wins into wins.

It's pathetic. I guess, by your dodges and red herrings--you don't want to address Hillary's
rabid spinning. That's ok, you just enjoy the ride!

10. he wins 11 in a row and she takes three on a bad night for Obama and you have the super delegates
jumping ship to Clinton? I suggest you wait until all the old dirt on the Clinton's get an airing and see how much people want a repeat performance with the Clinton's and her merry band of backers like McAuliffe. Ug, it makes me nauseated just thinking about anymore years of the Clinton's. I would rather have Obama's freshness and his leadership. Simply because he doesn't resort to Rovian tricks does not mean he isn't a fighter. Clinton has been playing to a lower common denominator and Obama to a higher one.

5. it might have been possible before, but
since HRC's slash and burn politics got started, I see no way this is going to happen.

She has said he's not experienced enough, and he has said she's part of the establishment which is the problem.

9. Hell no. Why would Obama want to be associated with the sleazy Clinton's"
Why would he want to have to be placed in predicament after predicament defending the Clinton's actions and questionable dealings.
I find it amusing she is suggesting this. Makes me wonder what she has planned. I will never accept her as our nominee if she get it with back door arm twisting of the super-delegates and added Obama to her ticket as an appeasement will not win her my vote. Absolutely not.
