ANOTHER Great Idea from the Dean Campaign.
I've gotten SO many great ideas from reading the Dean blog. Our three local Dean groups had already decided to some local food banks, but check out what our Iowan Dean supporters are doing. This is a FANTASTIC idea!

It’s almost back to school time and Dean Corps wants to make sure teachers and students have all the supplies that they need to start the year off right. Please bring any items from the list below to our August 6 MeetUp for Dean. Governor Dean will help out the Des Moines Dean Corps by bringing some supplies and attending their MeetUp at Court Ave Brewing at 7pm!

If you can’t attend the August MeetUp you can still donate school supplies by contacting your local MeetUp host or area Dean organizer.

Help us stock the classrooms by donating the following school supplies

TI-35 Calculaters
College Ruled Loose Leaf Paper
College Ruled Spirals
Colored Pencils
Kleenex
Trappers
Back Packs
Colored Markers

1. Amazingly wonderful ideas...
This guy's supporters come up with great ideas to CAMPAIGN, and I'm glad they are joining those of us who have been doing these very same outreaches for so many years unrelated to a political campaign. Welcome. Some things are above politics and the more who join these activist groups and stay, the better.

As a teacher, I'm touched at what Dean Corps is doing. It's great that people getting together to support Dean isn't really just about Dean. It's about community, and how Dean's message has reminded us that one person can contribute and make a difference, and even the smallest difference is important.

on edit: Kleenex--that's huge! My district no longer supplies it because of budget cuts. I have to bribe my students to bring in boxes for the classroom (as do most of the teachers I know).

5. I've been in education for almost 30 years
and I KNOW what kind of $$$ comes out of teachers' pockets. Our Dean volunteers are very generous and I know we can pull this one off by the September Meetup. These are a GREAT bunch of people!

4. Dean Corps is a great idea.
He's proving he'll help the country by actually helping the country!
