NoDak DU'ers--Who will be at state convention next weekend?
I know we're few and far between up here (hell, I think there are more active members in Manitoba).

My wife and I will be Page Coordinators, as well as delegates or alternates from District 41. We may not be out on the floor much as we'll be running heard on 50 pre-teen and teenagers all weekend.

If you're coming, be sure to stop by the Page Room and say hello.

2. Kick
I probably won't be in Fargo this weekend. But I will a North Dakota Democrat as of June, when I'm old enough to vote.

Thanks for continuing to reelect "Team North Datoka".

How come such a seemingly conserative state has all D's in congress? And they aren't even DINOs.

5. They are DINOs in many ways
but like a lot of Red States with Democratic delegations, the in-state voters recognize that a Democratic Congressional delegation in a state liek thsi is going to work on keeping the bacon coming in and not get caught up in national party issues.

What's amazed me since I moved here is this: I worked on capitol hill until the early '90s, and had a higher opinion of Dorgan than of Conrad, who seemed be be a complete budget wonk. Nice guy, but about as unexciting as you can get.

Dorgan is a true Prarie Populist (an economic populist with DINO tendencies). But the person who's really stood up in the last two years, voting against the IWR and constantling going after Bush on budget and finance like a pit pull on a poodle, is Kent Conrad.

He is a true Consience of the Party wing Democrat.

6. Of course he voted against the IWR
because it went to far in giving * war without foreign support.

7. But who the hell else had the courage to do even that?
BTW, you missed a great convention.
