For the Debate: Ask Cheney About Halliburton
Vice President Dick Cheney was CEO of Halliburton Corporation before becoming Vice President. Five days before being chosen as George W. Bush's running mate, Halliburton gave Cheney a $20 million bonus. Cheney continues to be paid by Halliburton on top of his government salary. In 2003, the Bush Administration awarded Halliburton a multi-billion dollar, no-bid contract in Iraq. Halliburton has mismanaged it: an audit turned up $1.8 billion of taxpayer funding for which Halliburton cannot account.
On Tuesday, October 5th, Vice President Cheney will be debating Senator John Edwards in the only Vice Presidential debate of the election. Cheney should answer questions on Halliburton.
Add your voice to many others in calling on PBS's Gwen Ifill, who will moderate the debate, to ask tough questions of Cheney about Halliburton. Send the email letter below now and urge your friends to participate.
