Concerning body oils and lotions.
My winter time skin became very dry do to the dry heat of winter in a far north home. A very nice DU lady I know recommended NIVEA (Trade Mark) Extra ENRICHED Lotion for very dry, rough skin.

I use the lotion with a bit of baby oil mixed in so it is easier to rub into the terrible dry skin. As I treated my skin to this soothing therapy I got to thinking about the movie; "Silence Of the Lambs". In that movie the bad guy had his captive lady friend down at the bottom of a well. He is forcing her to oil up her skin. I think he wanted soft pliable skin to make lamp shades.

Then I got to thinking about "Hannibal the Cannibal". Then I thought wouldn't it be cool to have flavored body oils. One could get "Hickory Smoke" flavored oil, or "Apple" flavored for instance.

Then if you ever got caught by a Cannibal you would taste extra good.

Sigh. It has been a tough week.

2. Have you tried Kama Sutra's massage oils?
My fav is the almond and it's great for dry skin besides its intended purpose as a massage oil. NOT the one that heats up.

Should I be concerned about folks who like nuts?

4. I have a suggestion....
My partner's 83 year old mother has extremely dry, easily-torn skin. We bought her soap and lotion made out of goat's milk and she absolutely adores it-won't use anything else. My partner also has sensitive skin and uses it whenever possible.

Here are some sources on the web

http://www.goatconnection.com/cgi-bin/G-directory/e-directory.pl?category=soapscosmetics

I've always bought mine locally at the whole foods coop.

It comes in several aromas which really do smell enough to eat (or lick, at least!)

Good luck and hope it gets better...

13. Pure lanolin if you can get it
is great. I have very dry hands and feet.

The only place I've seen pure lanolin is in the nursing supplies section, though. It's great for nursing moms with sore tits.

Neutrogena Swiss Formula Emulsion is good too.

16. I am very sorry
this thread became side tracked. This is the lounge I intended this stupid post to bring a smile or two and a few "smart" comments. It just goes to show where some peoples minds live.

Sorry guys and gals.

Ed.

17. Maybe I can help heal things with a bit of gratuitous medical advice....
all you super-dry skinned people, go get your thyroid levels checked. Really dry skin can be a symptom of a thyroid gland that's decided to take the early retirement option.
