6. Egad. I'm going to have "Mandy" in my head all bloody night
I will be at the MeetUp, and I'll end up asking Gary Kohlenberg if, as Congressman, he plans on coming and giving without taking.

Thank you.

8. As one who married in the summer of seventy-eight
I really liked his album "Summer of Seventy-Eight", and especially liked the little short intro piece called "Summer of Seventy-Eight".

10. I am truly sorry to have to say this to a fellow DUer, but honestly...
Barry sucks...he should stick to commercial jingles; at least it's relatively quick and painless that way.

19. The Allstate Jingle...
He used to do commercial jingles before resorting to singing his own full length songs (since no one else would). And you wonder why they get stuck in your head...

20. Barry Manilow reminds me of the dentist's waiting room.
NOT a good or pleasant association. Besides which, he's a crap singer/songwriter.

21. "I Made It Through The Rain" is the one I voted for
but I think my favorite is "All The Time." Or maybe "Please Don't Be Scared." Or maybe "Swing Street."

Heck, I like them all! MANILOW'S DA MAN! (And he's a Democrat, too!) :D

22. I LOVE LOVE LOVE
Barry Manilow and I'm not ashamed to admit it (and no, I haven't been drinking, either!) I finally saw him in concert a couple of years ago when my son wanted to see him, and he was FANTASTIC! I don't think I've ever seen a better concert, and he was really wonderful with the audience. Kinda made me wish I could have slipped backstage afterwards, SIGH. (It was especially neat to see all those women in their forties and fifties going crazy over him, lol!)

I was ten years old when Mandy, his first hit, came out and I've been totally in love ever since, especially after Could it Be Magic, taken from my favorite Chopin piece. Okay, okay, I'll stop with the gushing teenage slop now, I am, after all, a dignified woman of almost forty. I'd give ANYTHING to meet him in person, though!
