I admit it. I'm defeated. I don't want to look at any more houses.

We have an appointment to look at this one today: http://www.shorewest.com/homes/1229919_METRO-3945_E_Allerton_Avenue-Cudahy-WI-53110-1202

It's directly across the street from the one we lost out on yesterday and I don't know if I want to leave my house every day and look at the one we were trying to get. The appointment is already made, though, so I'll follow through on it.

To be honest, though, my heart really isn't in it.

1. Keep up hope. You'll find something else you like.
And I agree about the one across the street - it would be a daily reminder.

2. Not just that...
I'd have to resist the urge to moon the people who got it. Daily.

5. Nah - it would just end up on Facebook (or Buttbook).

On Edit: On the other hand, you could play dumb and casually ask how much they paid for the house and then let out a loud, long laugh and walk away saying, "shit, there IS one born every minute!"

If you do that, don't expect much from Welcome Wagon.

6. The only thing about the one we're looking at today...
Is the yard is quite a bit larger. We've seen the outside and it's OK. The pictures of the yard, though, are decent. Helpful for a 4-dog family. Plus it's only a block from the lakefront.

(Trying to remain positive for Paul.)

11. I've got a fairly large yard and that's great for the dogs - sucks to mow.
I call the back yard "the back forty". We've got high voltage power lines running between our house and the one next door so there's a 140' buffer (which ends about 1/4" from the corner of my garage). The pole is on an artificial mound in the neighbor's yard and all the kids use it for sledding - right through our yard. I don't mind, but I have to admit the urge to yell "GET OFF MY LAWN" is tempting.

4. The problem with that...
Everything we've looked at has been snapped up quickly. So we need to make our decision if we want it. The one we REALLY wanted went shortly after it was listed. Others that we looked at online were gone within days.

8. They had another bid...
And our realtor was unaware until after our meeting. The other bid was higher and they won.

10. My brother lives in a 1300 sq ft ranch, directly across the street from..
a stately manor house.

WHO HAS THE BETTER VIEW?

I ask you!

If you get the house, fix it up
perfectly inside, then when you
sit in your living room or whatever,
you can gaze upon the lovely view.

12. Take a break. It's been a pretty intense experience.
Your home is out there; it's not going away.

13. Damn. I understand,
looked at MANY, 'surprise' when friend told about and suggested we ask realtor to try to get access to house temporarily unavailable (Thanksgiving;) obtained access, . . . . accepted, lived happily for 20+ years.

Your time will come, we promise.

15. Awww. *hugs* I know it can be demoralizing. It's a very long process, unfortunately. Some of
the HGTV shows I have watched people have looked at _hundreds_ before finding the right one!
