My son hates the Dallas Cowboys

For reasons I don't totally understand, my sports-obsessed son (who will turn 10 later this month) has expressed contempt for the Dallas Cowboys.

My advice to him was: Son, if you are going to expend energy on hating a professional sports team, make it the New York Yankees.

Was I right?

I hated Dallas over the "Hail Mary" pass in the 1970's but I eventually got it over it. So will your son. Whatever they did that made your son hate them could never be as bad as that.

The Yankees win a lot but there is no salary cap in baseball. So they can buy their championships. They are following the rules. If we dont like it, then we need to change the rules. Otherwise, we dont really have an argument. If the Reds went on a spending spree and won 25 pennants I wouldnt complain.

We dont like the SEC in our house. But I still hold grudges from the Civil War.
