Anybody else surprised "The Kennedys" got 10 Emmy nods?
I admit - I own it. I think the early parts and the episodes about James Meredith and the Cuban Missile Crisis were compelling. I think Greg Kinnear did a stand-up job as JFK, but Barry Pepper was marvelous as Bobby. Tom Wilkinson was adequately creepy but with a human side as Joe Sr. All three got nominations. Would actually like to see Barry Pepper win. Deeply flawed, though, as zero mention of the space program or Vietnam. I can forgive them Vietnam (early), but the space program? I remember watching Alan Shepherd and the rest go up in elementary school. Unforgivable omission.

Anyway, the title music deserves a win, too. I'm sure we're deeply split on this one, but I sure have seen worse TV. And better. But, all in all, I'm glad it was recognized.

1. I haven't seen it, but I was surprised it got so many nominations since it had been
so controversial, not being able to find a 'home' for a while. Isn't that the one with Katie Holmes? Was she any good?

3. Yes, I have to admit that Katie Holmes was very good.
The performances were uniformly excellent. It really was better than expected.

4. Katie Holmes is a talented actress but needs to dump Tom Cruise
Alot of Tom's ex-wives/girlfriends dump Tom and go on to win Oscars like Nicole Kidman and Penelope Cruz.

5. OMG, how true!
Maybe that's why she married him.

2. I noted, too, how much was left out
But I thoroughly enjoyed the series. Greg Kinnear was fantastic - you could see the pain and exhaustion in his face (what you would think JFK was going through with his back and the struggles of the presidency). Really, really enjoyed it.
