"Secrets to the Grave" by Tami Hoag. It is a murder mystery set in 1987.

It is not about time travel but it got me thinking about that.

If you could live one year of your life over which would it be and why?

With me it would be 1984. Both my parents were still alive. I was a senior in college. Studying history and debating politics. My professors were unashamed liberals who presented liberal ideals as just good common sense. Most of we students sat around bashing Raygun together and laughing at the neo cons. I still believed the world could be changed if we just tried hard enough.

Now the only thing I believe is "the only thing we learn from history is we don't learn from history."

I want that naive faith back again.
