Do you consider the concept of "gourmet hot dogs" offensive?
In Spokane there is a restaurant called "Wild Dawgs." They sell hot dogs. "Gourmet" hot dogs.

It's a pretty controversial place because the logo is of a barely-clothed woman eating a hot dog...the W in 'Wild' looks like a set of "very large" breasts and the hot dog is placed in such a way it looks like she's giving it a blowjob

http://www.kxly.com/news/26896535/detail.html will show you the logo.

I am highly offended by this place--not because of the logo, but because they're charging seven dollars for one hot dog.

1. They probably have "gourmet" on the package so that they can sell it
at a higher price.

2. It's a restaurant, not a frank you can find in the supermarket
They put all sorts of weird shit (like pineapple, which for some reason Inland Northwesterners put on EVERYTHING) on these dogs. That's what makes them gourmet.

If word of that gets out, the truck stops that have tomatoes, sauerkraut and relish over in the deli area will price themselves out of the market.

4. No.
Are they using cheap hotdogs? Then that might be offensive to me.

9. "Gourmet" probably signifies that they know what's in their hot dogs.
That is just another sign of the apocalypse.

10. The only reason that I have a problem with this is that I've had some unbelievable hot dogs...
for 3 to 4 bucks. I'm sure there's amazing things you could do with a hot dog, but I find it hard to believe you'd really be getting your money's worth with a $7 dog. As for hamburgers, well, I'd have no problem paying $7 for one. There's a place next to my work that sells hamburgers to order and they're magnificent. It's honestly the best burger I've had and they start at around $6. Cooked medium rare with blue cheese, bacon and their yellow sauce, it's honestly one of the best things I've ever had to eat.

11. Well ...
If the hot dog was of noticeably superior quality, the overall meal was satisfying, and the service was good? I'd probably be fine with the concept as an occasional treat. Too expensive to do regularly, though, when you can get the same basic taste for much less.

12. What would they put in a "gourmet hot dog?"
And I thought Casper's charged too much!

It could be that all a GHD is is a Sausage, called a GHD

13. We had a gourmet hot dog shop open up downtown, lasted about 9 months
Seriously, a hot dog with a bunch of crap on it for $7? Great business model.
