You matter to me.

Some of you I know well, some not so well. Some of you I’ve known for 10 years, some I’ve met more recently. Some of you I’ve met in “real life,” some I only know here. Some of you I love, some of you bug the crap out of me. But you’re all important to me. This community is real. These relationships are real. I care about what happens to you. Your stories mean something to me. I care about you.

I just want to tell you that because that’s the kind of thing I want to remember to say to my friends and family from time to time. I don’t want to take anyone for granted, not my husband, not my son, not my crazy in-laws. Not my co-workers, not my neighbors, not my old school friends, and not you.

We’ve been through a lot together. Some of you are going through a lot right now. And every once in a while, we lose someone great. It’s meaningful. We’re real. We matter to one another.

You matter to me.

I read about blodeatlast while I was at work today. I gasped and said "Oh no!" My co-worker asked what was wrong. I said that a friend had died. Then I thought, "What if he asks her name? I'll say 'blondeatlast.' Hoe could I explain?"

Anyway, I didb't have to explain.

But sometimes I feel like writing a book about this new kind of relationship and these new communities. And of all the communites in the virtual world, DU is just the greatest. I'm glad you're here.

the same thing. We don't let people know that they matter to us, and sometimes keep us sane. We should all remember to tell everyone that they mean a lot to us. And this place is important to me too, and this place is all the people here.

29. The tragic news of blondeatlast was such a big shock, I'm glad you posted

such a nice post. The news just hit me like a big rock; I'm still in shock.

When I think about her great attitude & the sense of fun in her posts, I feel pretty sure that she knew she was well liked & valued. I feel that she valued the DU community as well.

It's so easy just to get caught up in life. And so many people touch our lives. For me, I feel that at least when I think to show my appreciation for someone or something, that I go ahead and do it, and don't just let the moment go by.

news that you were going to be okay. And I am so thankful that you were. You are one of the best ones.

You are right on never taking anything for granted. Each morning I get up, relive those three days that ended who I used to be, and realize that the only thing I have to hang on to is that I told him that I loved him when he left that day.
