For any guitar fans here.
It's 8mm footage of the Fender Guitar factory @ Fullerton, CA...from 1959! Recently discovered and restored (2010), it shows Leo Fender, Freddy Tavares and others on a typical workday, as they hand cut and assemble Fender instruments.

1. Cool - will check later
I wonder what Leo and Freddie would say knowing that the instruments they were building then are now commanding tens of thousands from the crazier end of the collector's spectrum. Hoots of scorn and derision would be my guess. Leo just thought he was building solid and efficient tools for working musicians.

2. Huh. SRV's main girl was a '59 I believe. Wouldn't that
be something if we just saw part of it?

My sweet baby is a Customized '99 Hardtail American Standard Sunburst w/ a black pickguard, rosewood neck, Texas Specials on the neck and middle w/ a stock pickup on the bridge, and graphite saddles cuz I bend a lot and break too many strings with a stock strat saddle. Nothing in this world sounds better than a sweet strat, IMO.

3. What a cool video. Here's a shot of my 40th Anniversary Strat.
And below it my '02 P-Bass Deluxe. The Strat has a Guild humbucker at the bridge and Schaller locking tuners, otherwise it's stock. The P-Bass is stock.

5. I lived in Fullerton for several years and knowing
the Fender factory was there was very cool because Fullerton wasn't particularly a musical town...... :bounce:
