Put a drop of Dave's Insanity Sauce on your tongue and then do a sinus rinse. Repeat. It WILL clean your sinuses out. The hot sauce will make you cough and sneeze and it breaks up a lot of the congestion.

I bought some bulk cayenne for the purpose and put it in an old garlic powder shaker, I don't a spoon or anything like that. I put on my eyeglasses and simply press one side of my nose with a finger to close a nostril to inhale, sniff as hard as I can stand it. Then do the other one. Even a 'dry' nose will drain quickly.

There are OTCs similar in effects, but I don't have a problem with cayenne. One is 'Sinus Buster' with capsicum, from Walgreens. Another is 'Sinus Survival' with a saline solution of grapefruit, calendula, yarrow and aloe. Some people squirt grapefruit juice.

Often there is a fungal infection keeping the sinus problem going. Grapefruit is recommended for that, but also oregano tea. It works to clear my lungs and throat inflamed from nasal drip. I boil the oregano in pure water to drink, then add something to sweeten it. Because when you make it strong enough, it's very bitter. It works very fast if it 's going to work at all.

BTW, I have a neti pot but never use it. I also do the old trick of inhaling the steam off of boiling water, it starts a round of sneezing when the nasal passages get dry and unable to clear naturally. Since I've had sinus problems for decades, I checked out the old remedies and they work for me.

Another OTC are the OLBAS inhalers. I use one before I go to bed to stop getting closed up at night. That or Metholatum. I can't handle RX remedies now. You might try Chinese Herbal medicine. It's cheap and effective with no side effects I've noticed.

If what you have is from allergies, consider your diet as well. If I eat something I usually avoid, next day or sooner my sinuses react. I also make a vegetable soup with certain herbs whenever I feel a cold or flu coming on. It makes one sweat, etc.

That is an awful lot of information there, to be taken with a grain of salt as I'm not preaching, to each his own. I do what works for me. Hope this helps a little bit. That's what we're here for, I guess.
