Need cooking help: I have three cod fillets to cook, some butter and some lemons.

How do I cook it? How long in the oven? Do I flip it over? Should I do it in a frying pan?

1. Bake it skin side up on a bed of thin sliced potatoes & greens with sliced onions and lemon on top

Cook it until the skin looks toasted but not too dry. Season it too. Just an idea, I do something like that with salmon. Throw some garlic in there somewhere, too.

2. I do stuff like that in a pan, slow. Method would depend a bit on whether

your range is gas or electric. Gas, use a heavy skillet; electric, use a lighter skillet. Add some oil (olive, say) to the pan, and the butter. Turn the heat on low, cover the pan, and wait until the lid is just about too hot to touch. Don't want the oil/butter smokin. Add the fish. Bit of pepper. Cover with (say) frozen broccoli. Put the lid back on. Heat not very high: you're not trying to fry the fish: you want to steam the fish and veggies. Cook until the veggies are done and the fish is white and flakey. Add the lemon juice

Whether or not you need to turn the fish depends on how thick the fillets are
