i never wanted to join before, but i got an email from them today that they are running a special and you can join for $5 a month.

they need my paypal address and password in order to verify my identity, but i don't have a problem with that since they will know everything about me once i join anyway.

i will update you when i become a member. maybe we can be friends.

4. I know so little about Facebook, I thought this was legit
We had a house guest a couple of weeks ago, and he has a Facebook account. I followed his log-on on my laptop (didn't leave his password, so I can't ruin him online), and got low-level access that I had never had before. I fished around, and found a name of someone I knew from high school, 35 years ago. I clicked on, and got a list of some of his friends, and got a chance to read the front page ("wallpaper", I believe) on several people's page.

At first, I was intrigued. As I mentioned, high school was 35 years ago, and I've never been back for a class reunion. I've been toying with the idea of going if they have one this year, and thought Facebook might be a good entree back into that social circle.

Hmmm.

From the bare bones front pages I had a look at, I realize that my old chums from high school and I have taken very divergent life paths. Now I understand that I was moving in one closed circle of alumni, but it was a pretty diverse bunch of people who I don't remember palling around with one another all that much back then. But whoof! I don't know that I'm all that interested in reconnecting anymore. My current interests are not their interests.
