I think that I hate firefox 4
I cant move the "bookmarks" button. Plus the tabs at the top annoys me. Plus everytime I try to open a new tab, it opens a new window instead. This is all kinds of sucky.

1. If you uncheck "tabs at top" it'll put them at the bottom.
Right click on the tab space for the contextual menu.

That really made me mad. It made me hate the people who actually want tabs up top. WTF? Freaks! I'm half serious!
Hell is other people.

2. Where is that selection, in preferences? (I'm on a mac, not seeing it).

7. I assume that
you control-click on the space where the tabs are/go.

6. Interesting
Now if I could move my bookmark bar up there, it would actually be an improvement. I do like the idea of making use of what is otherwise wasted space in that upper bar. But the tabs there just dosn't work for me.

I can't seem to find anything on moving the bookmarks button. You would think that in something touted as ultimo customizable, that would be a no brainer.

And switching the "new tab" and "new window" in the menu is a PITA, even if their positions actually seem slightly more logical in this order. Maybe I will just try to get used to that one.

3. I like it, but lack of a refresh button is getting really annoying.

9. Nearly all of that is configurable
It takes some getting used to, but if you right-click in the tab area and go to Customize..., you can reconfigure pretty much all of it.

10. Try Opera
:)

It's pretty customizable and a great browser (that everyone else loves to copy) ;)

11. I don't hate it but
For some reason, I can't get it to remember my session when I close the browser. I even did the Troubleshooting thingy Mozilla suggested and renamed a couple of files in my profile and it still won't remember my tabs.

I had been running the 4.07b Beta before this and it remembered my tabs just fine.

Weird.

12. That function alone is why I didn't like Firefox in the early days.
If they couldn't copy something I had been taking for granted for years with Opera, then they weren't getting me as a user. I fell back on the browser I've been using since the early '00s: Opera :)

Oh, the beta for Opera 11 has a cool feature I love, too: tab-stacking.

13. Actually, Firefox did do that, for years
I already use Opera. I don't like it so much but I have to use it because I have to run two separate browsers with different rendering engines - without killing what minimal memory I possess. I tried running Firefox and Chrome simultaneously but Chrome ate my resources like a pig with all its background shit. IE is right out. I may go see if Konqueror works on this Windows machine.
