I need some opinions about an interview question...

My sister recently had a phone interview with a local nursery/landscaping company. Most of the questions were related to the job that she had applied for, but two of them were sort of unusual.

He asked her what her favorite TV show was, and she said NCIS. That question wasn't too weird.

He then asked her if she thought there was intelligent life in outer space, and she said yes. I'm probably wrong, but I think this is a way to find out if she is religious.

Any opinions?

1. I'd be inclined to reply

that a more relevant question is whether there's intelligent life on earth. Of course, I'm not looking for a job.

2. Those are two good questions

Whether the intent was to discover religious propensity or not, both of those questions seem like good ways to gauge something about someone. I'd certainly use those answers to form an opinion.

If I were going to work with someone, I'd like to know those answers, just to get a hint as to whether we would get along.

5. Not sure life in outer space is a religious question....

after all, there is actually a Baptist hymn called God of Earth and Outer Space. I think they just believe any life from other planets would be from their same god.

But I know some fundamentalists who would disagree with that premise. Some religions probably have come around to the idea that there is life on other planets, but some are still stuck in the middle ages.
