okay, cat people -- this is really weird
I've had cats forever, and I've never seen this.

My old man ginger cat has been getting a lot of TLC the last several weeks, lots of special food to keep his weight up, and so on. He's drinking plenty of water and pees copiously several times a day.

Just now he used the litterbox, and the spot where he peed has a circle of bubbly foam! Just like dish suds.

What the heck? About the size of a ping pong ball. A ball of foam.

What could this be?

1. It can be a sign of excessive protein in the urine.
You might want to check with the vet, see if that needs looking into. Cats are pretty susceptible to urinary problems.

2. interesting -- he's been getting a lot of baby food chicken
But isn't the natural diet of a cat just meat?

3. Cats do eat a lot of protein because they are obligate carnivores, but
too much protein in the urine might mean it isn't being processed properly. It can happen with people too. The vet could tell you if you need to change his diet.

vet may have some advice, low but very high quality protein diet may help and possibly omega 3 essential fatty acid supplements
