Heaven please send to all mankind,
.
.
.
.
.
Understanding and peace of mind,
And if it's not asking too much,
Please send me someone to love.

Show the world how to get along,
Peace will enter when hate is gone,
But if it's not asking too much,
Please send me someone to love.

"Please Send Me Someone to Love" Percy Mayfield 1950
.
(about 0:40 into the song, "someone to love" saunters by)
.
(my favorite version of this is by Jimmy Witherspoon, but I couldn't find his online)

2. "Lord send me money, and sex, sex, sex!"
Sorry, that's the first thing I thought of. My step-mom's dad was murdered by a sex-worker and when she went to clean up his apartment she found all kind of really weird shit. She found a petrified cat, and money stashed in all kinds of places. In one of the hiding places in the apartment was a note that said "Lord send me money and sex, sex, sex!" My step-mom is a photographer and she took pictures of all this stuff and sent them to me. It's the kind of thing that sticks in your head.

Anyway, what you posted was truly beautiful and I don't mean to mar it. But I was reminded of a creepier and more corrupt version of a similar sentiment.

The world is full of desperation. I repeat and second the verses you posted:

Understanding and peace of mind,
And if it's not asking too much,
Please send me someone to love.

Show the world how to get along,
Peace will enter when hate is gone,
But if it's not asking too much,
Please send me someone to love.

I wish this for everyone too.
