It is temp is 41 right now, feels like a heat wave after the last few days.
Only tossed one small log in the old wood stove and that is almost to much.

Tomorrow will be in the 60's, that will feel really hot.

I don't know how cold it must have been but all the plants I covered so carefully died again.

Hope the roots are still alive.

1. I only had two plants to cover.
I guess I can uncover them now. I used a mostly white sheet, so they still got plenty of light, but you really have to cover them pretty thoroughly. My father will also put a small light bulb underneath to generate some heat and that works great! I think he uses old-style Christmas lights, so he can then string a bunch of small bulbs around to the different plants.

2. I didn't think of that.
I have some old lights like that, plenty of bulbs.

I will remember that next year.

Nothing left to save now.

I took a walk around neighborhood, a lot of plants are dead.

3. I guess it doesn't matter for you that the forecast for Wednesday
has it getting down to 29 with a little rain, and 31 the following night.

Did you lose all of your outdoor plants? :(

4. I have some in pots that I carried in the house.
All the outdoor plants are dead.

Between last year and this year it doesn't pay to have tender outdoor plants.

I replaced my dead norfork pines with cedar trees, the cold doesn't hurt them.

I will still cover the roots and hope for the best.
