What's your favorite time of day? The one you look forward to the most?
Mine?

Right now.

We're done having dinner. The kitchen is as clean as I can make it. The DW is running...

I'm here at my computer with some terrific music streaming over the internet...

It is a peaceful, relaxed time of day for me...

And I'm talking to my friends here and on facebook...

What's your favorite time of day? I hope yours is as good as mine is!

1. I like morning, Peg.
I'm always the first one up, and I give myself a long time before I have to dress for work. Bunny the cat meets me at the bedroom door(she's too happy at night for us to have her in the bedroom) and she flings herself down at my feet for the only belly rub of the day she will tolerate. Then we go downstairs, I make coffee, and I feed her and Pidge, the parrot while it brews. They both meow piteously (she's a parrot after all) until they get their morning treats, and then I settle in to check e-mail, catch up on news, and maybe write a little. In summer I open up everything and listen to the birds and the early traffic. Now, in winter, I wait for the sun to come up and enjoy the snuggliness of the morning.

I'm a very social person, but I like the morning solitude a lot.

2. i have a meditation/ceremony
that time each day when day turns to night. at first the birds are really frantically chatty, then slowly turn still. believe it or not, this is a grounding thing for me, I feel powerfully connected to the universe, giant and small at the same time.

peace,

5. When I worked or went to school, mornings were my favorite time
Coffee, cigarette, walking dogs, and the day quietly waking up.

Now, I like after dark. Quiet, no phone calls, no company dropping in, and petting dogs. (kind of like now as I post this) :)

Ah, flexibility is a good thing...

I see a pattern here, with the responses so far...

We all need a time to ourselves, to regroup from the day, or to get ready for it...

Thanks for sharing, sweetie!

9. snuggling up with my husband at the end of it
we are both the perfect size for the perfect spoon and i haven't found anything that beats having him wrap around me the way he does. plus i usually have one, if not both, of the cats on or right next to me, so i get to go to sleep in the middle a big bundle of love :)

i've never cared for hot weather, but i like it even less now because i don't get my favorite time.

10. For sure not this ...
It's around 6:40 a. m. here, because Ginger has to get his teeth cleaned at 7:30 a. m. There's no world outside yet.

No wonder Hitler started WWII at 5:45 a. m. I would have done the same thing. Yuk! I'm definitely not a morning person.

Yawn. ;)

Maybe you'll get a nap later?

13. Thank you!
I'm up since 6:00 a. m. There's not even a sun out yet ...
Ginger will be fine. The worst thing was that he couldn't eat since 5:00 p. m. yesterday, so he had to head-bang me quite often in my little sleep, and Heidi's on a business trip.

We'll do fine but I can't nap after I'm up.

Perhaps I can snap some sunrise pics on the way; that'll be quite special.

I take a nap nearly every day, and it allows me to stay up very late!

If you could take some sunrise pics, that would be wonderful!

But I imagine you'll just be wanting to get to Ginger's teeth cleaning without messing around on the way...

And then Ginger will insist on eating as soon as you get home!

Ah yes....sleep.

Shakespeare said it really well:

---the innocent sleep,
Sleep that knits up the ravell'd sleave of care,
the death of each day's life, sore labour's bath, Balm of hurt minds, great nature's second course, chief nourisher in life's feast.

This is one of my favorite quotes by him. It's from Macbeth. I have it written down in my little blank book...

Sweetest of dreams!

21. Hmmm, it varies
But generally, whenever I get the big chores out of the way during the day (or evening) and flop down somewhere and Mr Wiggles, my one true lapcat, jumps up and snuggles into me and I can pick up a book and just veg out.

Usually late evening.

Good question!! :hi:

27. There is a bit of a problem with that. function not data
To accept that there are funny moments in my situations is a trap. There are some things that use anxiety to try to use that as an excuse for control.

Basically it says that if you are not happy, then that is why you don't do or are not somewhere. For instance I don't have much fun at the bars, but that is not the point. Because sometimes I do have fun at the bars.

But here is the point about some usages of control. There are things that say you are happier in some place, then make you feel bad by trying to harass you when you are not there. That is terrorism.

That is a dictator saying if you don't submit to them, then they will make it hard on you.

There are things that make something less fun with harassment, then say you can't be there because you weren't happy there.

It is a delusion for control. Or in other words, there is some joy in songs and music, but there is joy in museums and travel, and poker and pool also, and when there is some hardship there, that does not make the joy less, but more. However some people make the hardship to try and tell you that is why you can't be somewhere. That is ridiculous and terrorism.

Also why it is beer and travel money that is due to me, not power, not control, not status or position. But what is due must be paid, because it should not have been used to try and control who and what I am. And someone will send me the beer and travel money that is due.

29. Well...
Hot tub at 0500 with the lap top, catch up on DU of course, I have no other need for news sources.
0600...make lunch for the wife, wake up the daughter, get her breakfast order...
Feed the kid, feed the parakeet, the bunny, the cats and finally, leftovers for the dog.
0700... coffee in bed for the wife with a wake up nuzzle, and then NSFW...lulz...
Give the kid a weather report so she can dress appropriately.
0745...
Out the door to school for the girl, back home at 0800 to sit with the wife and chat about the day, make plans, whatever, just our time.
Off to work for her at 0900...
And then?
Crank the stereo, clean the house...its 1620 somewhere...and check the surf conditions.
If there is surf, I go surfing, no surf? I clean the house some more, work on the cars, the house, whatever...
Yeah, I have it good.

41. I like all times of the day. I like just having another day to live.
I like getting up in the morning, seeing the sun, greeting my cats, eating something, and drinking coffee; I like lunch; I like to work and work on different things, or just chores; I like coming home, eating, watching tv, if there is anything on (rare); I like playing with the internet; I like sleeping.
Eating is one of my favorite times, if the food is good. I'm thin, I've always been on a diet (trying to GAIN weight).
I like sleeping. I have a difficultly knowing if I like eating or sleeping better. It may be sleeping, but, because I'm asleep, I don't realize it.

46. the golden hour -- the hour before sunset
...when everything is in a painterly glow as the slanted light touches things in a way that only that hour brings. I always remember to look outside then and admire whatever nature has brought to my attention. Sometimes, it's bitty clouds scudding across the gold/blue sky like so many cotton balls. Sometimes, like today, it's a hundred robins in the bare garden trees -- their breasts were intense with color and their chirping the very harbinger of spring.

That's my favorite time of day. The golden hour. My mom used to call me on the phone and say "Quick! Look outside! It's the golden hour!"
