1. Whenever I stay in the hospital, I ALWAYS ask the nurses...

...to "requisition" me as many of their thick, warm non-slip
socks as they can.

When I showed up the first time for cardiac rehab and they
were checking my ankles, the nurse looked surprised and said,
"Why, you're still wearing your hospital socks!!!"

2. I've got several pair

Every time I have gone in for out patient surgery, they make you wear a pair in the pre-op area and then let you keep them. So I've gotten five pair in the last decade.

Unfortunately, the 'free' ones are thinner than the ones I've bought so they wear out sooner.
