8. I tend to interpret the the term rock band rather liberally as you can see.
Hope you don't mind. I don't care much for the usual rock
band Christmas music. As much as I like Bruce Springsteen
I don't like his Santa Claus is coming to town much.

21. I'm glad you like it...
When I was a top 40 dj back in the 90s, I would volunteer to work on Christmas day because we didn't have a music log; so I was able to play whatever I wanted. I would play "Easier Said Than Done" as much as I could.

33. Actually, it is a Greg Lake Solo Piece
I too thought it was ELP but I read upon it recently and turns out he did it on his own.

One of the best.

34. I realize it was released as a single by Greg Lake by himself, however,
Edited on Wed Dec-22-10 12:02 PM by begin_within
it does appear on "Works Volume 2" by Emerson, Lake and Palmer, so in my opinion that does qualify it to be considered an "Emerson, Lake and Palmer song" on the basis of the fact that it does appear on an album they released as a group. And if Wikipedia can be believed (which is forever in doubt) Lake has actually recorded the song 4 times, 2 of them with ELP and 2 as a solo recording. Thank you for mentioning the distinction.

23. Guitarist Gary Hoey has a couple of Christmas albums.
He's an incredible guitarist (that too many people haven't heard of) and does great versions of standard Christmas songs. Another one I love is Jimi Hendrix doing "Little Drummer Boy."

31. There's a great track ...
in Boston in the 70's, the station that would carry the Boston Bruins hockey games would play an (extended) commercial with that song while showing clips of the Bruins playing and the announcers yelling "SCORE!" and "GOAL!".

It was a perfect mix.

38. "Merry Christmas" by Butch Walker is my favorite.
It's not really a Christmas song in the usual sense, because it basically says that despite it being Christmas people are still totally fucked up. Unfortunately it's not on YouTube, so you'll have to fine it elsewhere. It's well worth it though.

Then, second in obscurity only to the first song, there's "Happy Holiday" by Enuff Z'Nuff. - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3bc5ud6BVFU

On the more pop punky side there's:
"All I Want For Christmas Is You" by Zebrahead - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7bY26QhvjuY
"Ex Miss" by New Found Glory - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7Z9Fq5B_yQ
