Just discussed a new contract on cell phone
and can't afford a new one anytime soon--and while I was on the topic, found a single second of humor that could be incorporated into a comedy routine:

Quote:

"I can't commit suicide--I just signed a new two year contract with my mobile company!"

The sad thing is, it's true! We get involved over some contract or plan or lease, and we sign on for a period of time that is, by its very essence, less than substantial to our thinking. We don't bother to think in the here and now, and likely are tempted by a perceived benefit instead of reality.

I often find the situations amusing by their nature--we talk about "mortgaging" our children's future, and in truth we willingly put ourselves into that position, because we can't reconcile the difference between what could happen, and what is likely to be what happens.
