2. What do you have in the cupboards? Apples? Granola bars? Raisin boxes? Microwave popcorn?

6. We had to do the granola bar thing one year when someone actually turned up at our door. Talk about
a moment of panic! And it happened to my kids one year when they got some very tired old apples.

7. Here, take mine
I bought our usual 15 bags of candy (seriously) but have four left over. Good stuff, too, because I hold back the Kit Kats and Reeses and Hershey's (in case we have leftovers that we have to--ahem--dispose of). Looks like our rush is over--more likely because it's a school night than the fact that it just snowed briefly.

14. Wow, what 'hood do you live in?
We get nearly nada in the Strong neighborhood. Of course, this year I'm in Syracuse (looking after MIL); she asked me to buy 4 bags and I barely went through one. She has a sweet tooth; I think it was a ploy on her part. :-)

15. Hee hee cheers to your MIL!
I'm actually in Caledonia, instead of Rochester proper.

8. I always buy too much since I hate to think of running out
and then we only end up getting 20-25 trick or treaters! I never learn. My husband just laughs at me!

16. That happened to me one year... Yikes!
And I was all by myself, as well. We never know, sometimes have hordes of kids, tonight we had four... I had a choice, run to the nearest store or hit my mother up, since she buys bags and bags of the stuff (although the candy bowl is likely to sit there through the next year... x(). My mother's slightly closer, and I wouldn't have to stand in line, so I raced through the street full of kids and drove back like a maniac. I told those who were approaching that I'd BRB, LOL. I was only gone for about 15 minutes, so I don't think I missed too many, and nobody threw eggs at my house or soaped the windows (do they still do that?), so it turned out okay. It's amazing the things you think of to substitute when you're in that position, LOL. I've felt your panic... :hi:

17. Retreat to a well reinforced central part of your home.
Board up any windows.

Establish your lines of sight.

Keep all ammo close at hand.

Aim for the head.

(Sorry, that's how to deal with zombies, not trick or treaters.)
