I hate to cheer for Brett Favre, but the battle of the losers was resolved in the Vikings favor as the Cowboys killed themselves with penalties and poor execution. Score Dallas 21-Vikings 24. Cowboys have won 1 game and lost 4, and occupy the cellar of the NFL East.
Vikings advance to 2-3
I'm happy.

want a team to host the Super Bowl. Just look at the referees calls and one can see what is going on.

Dallas will not be in the Super Bowl this year, thanks to the NFL. It will be interesting to see if the NFL lets the Giants/Jets host the Blizzard Bowl in two years.

5. I saw the same thing in a different game

Penalties: NY - 3, Detroit - 11

Late hits, hits out of bounds, Lions earned their loss. I'm sure the coaches are yelling at these players, but maybe it's hard to teach a brazillionaire.

The Dallas game was going to run later than my geezer bedtime, so I just read a book instead.

23. I'm a huge Cowboys fan, but....

Penalties or not, they just can't seal a win this year. Too many mistakes, most of them involving fundamentals (can you say "awful coaching?"). Bad officiating or not, they commit multiple, blatant penalties. Romo is not and has never been a franchise quality QB, but JJ loves the image of having discovered hidden talent, so he can't face reality. This team has convinced themselves they are Super Bowl quality, without any execution to back it up.

Even as a fan, I am rooting for lots of losses this season. Think of it as tough love. That's what it's going to take to convince the management that several changes are necessary.

With a few notable exceptions, the team has an impressive roster, but what good does it do if they can't execute for a full 4 quarters of football?

Hopefully next season can be a rebuilding year with a new coaching staff and a handful of new personnel on the field.
