South Koreans ridicule 'fat' Kim Jong-un
I thought they liked the 'prosperity Buddha' look in Korea.

Kim Jong-un has been ridiculed by South Koreans as "Pyongyang's fat pig" after North Korea released its first official photo of the heir apparent.

Bloggers from South Korea's Internet community had one overriding question about the youngest son of leader Kim Jong-il: how did he get so fat when his country is starving?

The North's official media released its first ever picture of the younger Mr Kim on Thursday, days after he was appointed a four-star general by his father and was given two powerful ruling party posts.

Analysts said the release of the image - showing a chubby young man - confirms Kim Jong-un's status as eventual successor to his ailing 68-year-old father in the reclusive communist state.

1. Considering how many North Koreans are malnourished,
he probably does look "fat" by comparison.

7. Let us all hope he leads NK to sanity
It doesn't have to be democracy - but just a level of sanity.
