1. They won't take a debit card?.
A friend of mine lost his job, so his credit took a hit.

He had been using a debit card, but know he has a credit union credit card with a limit.

Lots of people have bad credit.

I don't owe anything on mine and the credit limit was lowered.

2. Mine must be worse
I can make the monthly payment no problem. A deal came out where installation/hardware was free if you are a new customer. I haven't had real TV since the digital takeover.

I thought.. Woot! :woohoo:

Due to credit, I don't qualify for the deal.

Then.. I thought... grr! :grr:

:hi:

3. That is stupid, they can always cut off the service.
Give somebody a chance first.

4. Hehe, it's ok
I just wanted to watch House and keep up with the next 40ish days.

C-span, Netflix, and Hulu will have to do. I just can't discuss episodes of House with daughter until 8 days after she has watched them :P

:)

5. They are going to run out of customers the way things are going.
I watch most everything on online now.

I don't remember when the shows come on so I just catch up later.

6. it is the equipment, I think
when I got my mediacom cable hooked up here I asked the guy doing the installation about DVR services. He said they could do that, but it required a credit check. They were going to do everything else without doing one, but when I asked for a piece of expensive equipment, I guess I had to prove myself worthy.

I passed the credit check, which I couldnt do now. Several months of unemployment hit my credit hard.

8. I had read up on that when a friend had her card limit reduced
drastically and suddenly without her making a lot of charges or making a late payment.

Did you know they watch what you are buying and where you are buying it?

If you stop shopping at high end retail locations and switch to dollar stores, it sets up a trigger for a limit cut. Using coupons at the grocery store when you never did before, ping! I guess those are habits of people who have suddenly had income changes.

Another thing weird. If a percentage of customers that shopped at a certain location defaulted on their card it sets up a flag for anyone else making purchases from that location.

It is crazy, and all computerized.

9. I used cash a lot, or a free standing debit card not tied to my bank.
I have such excellent credit, made sure it was excellent.

I only used the cards for certain things, big things.

I know a lot people who got hit like this.

If you don't use the card they lower the limit, if do use the card they lower the limit.

They like to play games with people.
